| Supposively a package was sent out via USPS but seems lost. This was not an international mailing so its all within the USPS and there wasn't any Delivery Confirmation, Insurance, Tracking, etc on it.
I do remember something written about "putting a tracer" on lost mail but couldn't find any details on the USPS site. Can anyone give me some information of how do start this process? Specifically what it may cost, what information is required, and who to file it with (origin Office, Postmaster, etc.). This was not an international mailing so its all within the USPS. Thanks in advance. | | Harbinger: 80/80 - Dragoneye: 60/60 - Archfiends: 60/60 - Giants of Legend: 72/72 - Aberrations: 60/60 - Deathknell: 60/60 - Angelfire: 60/60 - Underdark: 60/60 - War Drums: 60/60 - War of the Dragon Queen: 58/60 Rebel Storm: 60/60 - Clone Strike: 60/60 - Revenge of the Sith: 60/60 - Universe: 60/60

| | After 2 weeks if the package isn't delivered the sender can go to the USPS office they sent the package through and fill out a form. The USPS can then look for the package at the processing centers, etc it as it goes through specified routes. I had to do this once when one of my packages wasn't delivered.Thankfully it showed up the day after I filled out the form. | | | |

| If there was no DC you can't track the package with the recipt(DC number is on the recipt) but you can use the recipt to prove acceptance of the package at the post office.Once you prove the package was accepted and fill out the apropriate forms claiming the package was never recieved then the post office will put a trace on it.
Now this info is about 4 years old and might be a little off,my fuzzy memory, but its what I remember from back then when a birthday present I sent never arrived. The trace found it in the dead letter office, the apartment number was one off and they never even tried to return it to me.
I didn't have the recipt to start the trace but the postal worker told me it would make things a lot easier and faster. I just had to make a statement claiming that I mailed the package and it was never reicieved.

| | Thanks to everyone posting. I'm going to see if this can be started and hopefully my stuff will be found and pushed through wherever it is. | | Harbinger: 80/80 - Dragoneye: 60/60 - Archfiends: 60/60 - Giants of Legend: 72/72 - Aberrations: 60/60 - Deathknell: 60/60 - Angelfire: 60/60 - Underdark: 60/60 - War Drums: 60/60 - War of the Dragon Queen: 58/60 Rebel Storm: 60/60 - Clone Strike: 60/60 - Revenge of the Sith: 60/60 - Universe: 60/60 | |

| Thought I would update this in case others read it looking for ideas of what to do. The trace on the mail worked like a charm and my month delayed package arrived though worn from its long journey through limbo.
It took a little over a week to get to me after issuing the trace. There wasn't any indication of what may have held it up but as mentioned the wear on the envelope shows that it has been shuffled more than its fair share. Also if anyone is curious the dating of shipment was correct and showed it shipped in mid February so it wasn't just a late sending but a true "lost in mail" case. | | Harbinger: 80/80 - Dragoneye: 60/60 - Archfiends: 60/60 - Giants of Legend: 72/72 - Aberrations: 60/60 - Deathknell: 60/60 - Angelfire: 60/60 - Underdark: 60/60 - War Drums: 60/60 - War of the Dragon Queen: 58/60 Rebel Storm: 60/60 - Clone Strike: 60/60 - Revenge of the Sith: 60/60 - Universe: 60/60
