Hello all,

On 2/22/06 I agreed to a trade with someone. He recieved on the First of March but I didn't check the DC until the 5th. He didn't send until March 13th!! He said that he was broke because his student loan hasn't arrived.

I said to him that I was upset that he didn't bother to email me about this. He then claims that the whip of the Aspect of lolth I sent was broke. I told him that it wasn't and why didn't he notify me when he recieved. He did not answer that.

He just sent this email:

"Please! The whip was broken off just behind the head!
There's no way you didn't no this! Post away but
those threads usually go haywire and get locked as a
result. If you were really such a stickler about the
condition of the minis you wouldn't have sent me a
broken one. This trade is over and I won't talk to
you about it further."

Now my real problem is not just the fact that it took 20 days to recieve my trade but the Ogre Ravager he sent was repainted. I told him of my displeasure, he returned with:

"Unfortunately I don't have another to send. It was that way when I got it. Also you sent an Aspect of Lolth that had a broken whip. That wasn't acceptable to me. I'm considering this trade complete with neither of us satisfied."

What is the best recourse? Should we return minis to each other?

How well was the AoL protected? If it was rattling around in the box and not bagged I could see it possibly break during shipping. Is the OR completely repainted or just touched up? Either way it seems that this should have been noted. It might be best to just send the minis back to each other.

You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. It's old and stuffy. - Originally Posted by BabWryter on Kenzerco.com

The Mini had shipping peanuts and all, it may have broke during shipping. The Ravager is very dark and had a glossy film on it.

I emailed the trader and ask the we returned minis to each other. He hasn't responded. He did wait until today 14 days after recieving to leave me negative feedback.

Don't know why he didn't leave feedback until now. Hmm

The trader now returns my email that I sent telling him we should return minis to each other and he replies:

"It amazes me how someone named Tactician can be so Tact-less! You're damn rude and I'm not spending one more penny shipping anything to you or dealing with you ever again. Put up a dispute if you like and lie all you care about sending me a broken mini. I don't care anymore. As far as I'm concerned you don't exist."

His remarks and refusal to send back minis makes me think that there is nothing wrong with the Aspect I sent.

Have you put this on the disputed trades thread? It sounds like this is a trade with a dispute...

I have had a trader twice say they were so poor they couldn't send the miniatures yet. I am not trading with that person again. If you don't have the spare money for a trade, don't promise to trade with people. Note that the person did not say DURING negotiations that it would take them some time to put the cash together for the trade. They waited to use it as an excuse after I emailed asking why the trade hadn't been shipped yet. Poor form.

How can you afford a couple of hundred dollars for a set of minis and not 2 dollars to mail a trade? Even if you are just buying a few minis for RPG purposes the average mini costs more than the average mailing fee (within the U.S.A).
Even if you are trading old minis for newer ones, if your that poor maybe you should thing about selling your minis to pay the bills.

I know the postal fees for overseas shipping are higher but are they that much higher?

I have traded with both US and Canadian traders and no shipping cost, including DC, has never been more than about $2.50 and not over 2 for a US trade and one of those was a big trade of about 18 or so minis.

Poor form indeed.[B)]

never expect much,

its all about risk,
if someone wanna get the better end of it, well....its his loss or your loss....

i've risked trading with 9 -10 people already,
within the last week (no choice as i am a new comer,to get that 10 references).

put him on the bad traders list,
price of stress is measureless, so i'd just move on.
(p.s. whats his username?so i dont get victimized.cheers)
