| I make a copy on my hard drive and on a disk, in case another accident happens and I find saving plain text easier than trying ( unsuccesfully ) to make a copy of the interface ( apart from just using Print Screen and pasting it in mspaint.exe. I also find the text format easier to refer to. | | Please donate BLOOD at http://www.monstersgame.co.uk/ac=vid&vid=11018554 Champion Of Kaz the Minotaur Knight of ALL Draconians. Seriously, the trade interface has no personality just positive, negative and its fine for what it does but sometimes you might want to get the feel for a trader and so you can look at some of the comments made about him/her.
really though it just the post count thing.

| | My reference thread is the only place that has an accurate feflection of all my trades. | | You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. | | I think the reference threads are more revealing than the trade system. I use both. | | "Look to God and live." Alma 37:47 Vindicated Champ of Hippogriff (Arcadian Hippogriff) and Uncommon Horse | |

Exactly.
I use both as POSITIVE doesn't realy tell you much of the dedication and general experience you might have with your trading partner; as well as Negative doesn't tell you how much of a disaster it was.
I hope they both remain. Also, it is kind of hard to get out of old habits and since the system is new, lots of people still like to read the ref threads. I know I do. | | Trades >> Completed: 49 | Bad: Ø | Pending: 0 | Trade & talk Live on IRC! SERVER: irc.psionics.net CHANNEL: #maxminis

| Well, I have a few trades that were never reported on the massive trade thread, so the list I keep there is as close to exact as I can get.
According to the system: I have 2 trades since the update and 6 trades prior to the update. According to my trade thread: I have 11 trades and a couple warnings when dealing with certain traders (already confirmed to be bad traders).
The post is just a nice bonus for being thorough. | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?

| There was also a huge span of time between the last update of the compiled trade list and the beginning of the new interface, so some users (like me) had a large number of trades that were properly reported on the trade thread using the previous system but never made it to the trade interface as grandfathered trades.
Another nice thing about my reference thread is that I can differentiate between trades and sales (and, if I ever make any directly on maxminis, purchases).

| | Yup there was about a 4 to 6 month lapse in the totals between the last full update and the startup of the Trade Interface. I did send Jai the latest and most current trade reference database I had when he populated the field for preexisting trades. To be fair, given the general trade policies only a handful of traders were really impacted, and those were the traders who started up about the time my updates to the list lapsed. For the traders who had been active a while, it probably makes little difference to someone if they have 58 trades or 67 trades. Both were a lot of trades. | | Built the addition for this addiction, now on to the "gaming table" project.... http://www.maxminis.com/hw_list.asp?user=Zenako last updated 29 May 2006 Set Status: in a nutshell = all of all In Process trades 0), (Sig last updated 05/29/06) 300 plus Completed Trades -

| | I still wish my old reference thread hadn't been trashed (I think it takes the name of the first person that responds to it). For me, there were many, many trades done before the trade interface came in, so I must maintain a reference thread. It helps a newer trader to feel secure about sending first, when he/she sees that their trade partner has made almost 200 trades on Maxminis. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

| If you ask the proper Mod/Admin person, he can restore authorship of the topic/post to the intended owner. That's how I got mine back.
The main caveat is that you should go through google or yahoo to find a cached version of the thread. That way you can recapture most (if not all) of the text of that first post.
At least you can grab the names of the traders even if you don't completely recreate the first post. | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?

I'm using mine as a way for me to keep track of what I'm doing. I haven't had anyone post to my thread in a long time, but that's fine with me.
