| | Ok, crisis of conscience. I agreed to a trade wityh another forum member, and we agreed to a simul-send. I had been unable to get to the P.O. when he sent out, and he gave me a DC#. I checked the DC, and there is no record of it. For 3 Days now. I have tried to email the other party, but no respnse. They have quite a few trades under their belt, so I don't want to jump to conclusions, but I still can't shake this feeling of bad stuff. Should I mail off anyways, or should I now wait and see if I receive anything? | | Champion of Mohrg

| | At times it can take awhile for the DC# to appear in the USPS system. I've had trades where the DC# didn't appear in the system until after I had received the packages. If the trader has a good number of completed trades, I wouldn't worry just yet. | | Completed transactions: 40 | |

| | Since the agreement was a simulsend, I think I would go ahead and send out. | | Completed transactions: 40 | |

| | It is very common for a DC to never show up in the system until it hits your doorstep. If you use a mailcarrier that picks up from your office, they dump them in bins and they are not scanned until delivery. It is delivery confirmation and not tracking. If you go to the PO they usually scan them though, unless its a tiny PO like in my town. So the fact that the DC doesn't show up means little on its own. | | 270+ Trades Completed (194 maxminis | 50 wizards | 29 hordelings) References: http://www.maxminis.com/Forums/tabid/104/view/topic/forumid/53/postid/435268/Default.aspx H/W List: http://www.maxminis.com/hwlist.asp?user=gausse Bad Trades: Chaotic Good (Strongbow Lone Eagle), dndonuts, Allard, ScottWallace Email: gausse2@yahoo.com

| | If it's an established trader with no disputed trades you should probably send now. I would be pissed if someone didn't send until after they received unless that was the agreement. In fact I WAS pissed when it happened to me and I left neutral feedback despite getting my end of the trade in an otherwise timely manner. | | Champion of Gromph Baenre | |

If you agreed to send at the same time, and your trade partner has more trades than you do (his 50-60 looks like more than yours), then you should have already sent a few days ago. It is poor trading practice to not simul-send when that is the agreed upon arrangement. | | Over 270 successful online DDM trades. | |

I dont really like deleting threads, plus in Q&A it might give the answer to someone else.
I probably should of changed the thread title to reflect the question better though.. oops :/ | | "Mutton yesterday, mutton today, and blimey, if it don't look like mutton again tomorrer." | | Ok, I shipped off, but still no email or response about the package. Honestly, should it take a week to go from Rhode Island to VA? | | Champion of Mohrg

| Well, the weather hasn't exactly been speeding the mail along lately, especially in the NE.

| | I'm the trader in question. I think the reason the DC wasn't confirmed on my end was because I mailed on a Sat. and used the automated postal center. For some reason the package isn't scanned when using that system. It's happened to me 3 times now, twice when sending and once when receiving. I apologize for my slow responses, I was on vacation and didn't have as much computer access as I thought I would. Just for the record I have 117 completed trades here. 57 through the interface, 35 prior to the interface and 25 trades that were 'lost' between the changing of the two systems. Sorry for giving you a bit of a scare. I'll let you know when I receive your end. thanks for your patience. | | You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. | | There is no step in the automated postal center which marks the DC as shipped. That does not happen when using the automated postal center. In other words, when you use the automated postal center, you are not getting your money's worth for DC. The only scanning that happens with those packages is the scanning performed by the mail carrier who delivers it. I almost never use the automated postal centers for trades because of this, even though I would use it a majority of the time if the system scanned the package when I dropped it off. I guess one reason it is good that the system does not scan acceptance is that it cannot tell if the person buys the postage and takes it or buys the postage and puts it in the mail slot. I have mailed one package using the automated system since learning that it does not scan acceptance, and that was when time was starting to slip by and circumstances were busy and I didn't want the package delayed any further. | | "Look to God and live."
