| | It was corrected by the head of DCI OP I think on Wizards' boards the day the announcement was posted, there will be only two boosters of Angelfire, no Aberrations Starter required. Should actually lower the price unless your venue wants to be you know whats. | | Champion of the Yeti (large uncommon please!) Assistant to the Regional Manager | |

| The best way I have found that you can really prepare for any sealed event is as follows:
1) Know how to build warbands. 2) Know how to place tiles to achieve tactical objectives. 3) Be familiar with the pieces in the set or at least be able to recognize which pieces are "good" or "bad" at least within respect to the set itself.
Planning for particular warbands or tiles is kind of pointless as you will have no clue as to what you are going to pull. Generally, because you only have two rares, what your true decision making is going to come down to is what uncommons you pull. So pay special attention to them. Do not be afraid to leave out one of your rares if its not particularly useful or if your uncommons are better than it is.

| | The best part about sealed/out of the box is; you can use all the factions togetherΖD]. It also helps to draw good, a gibberingmouther or fiendish scorp could hurt your chances. | | They just don't know what's good in life...Conan, tell them what is good in life. To rip the boosters. | I am currently in the process of putting together the exact details of a pre-release Angelfire tournament at FLGS and I have gotten some conflicting reports as to what would be the format. I will post the correct once I get it, but I have heard all of the following:
One Abberations Starter and One Angelfire BoosterOne Abberations Starter and Two Angelfire BoostersTwo Angelfire Boosters
The price of the tournament is dependent on your store, but it is mainly to cover the cost of the boosters. There should be prizes given out for the winners, but not sure of the distribution.
For those that might be planning on attending here is the location of where the tourney will be held that I am helping to organize.
All American Cards and comics 161 West Market St. Warren, Ohio 44481 (330) 393-3137
Once all details are ironed out, I will post again (times, cost, what you get, etc.) | | DDM - Harbinger = 77/80 Dragoneye = 60/60 Archfiends = 60/60 Giants of Legend = 72/72 Aberrations = 59/60 Deathknell = 59/60 Angelfire = 60/60 Underdark = 34/60

| | The biggest thing that I have found that you must do to prepare for sealed tournaments is that the standard "rules" for a good figure don't always apply. One of the pieces from Deathknell that is seeing lots of metagame play now (Ettin Skirmisher) I found virtually useless in Sealed as you do not have the overload of Hig attack bonus low AC stuff. An ettin tring to hit even a reasonable AC is a sad sad thing to watch. It is about balanced warband building or a Lucky draw. The Thaskor and the Dire Bear were absolute monsters in sealed. They have proven themselves less effective in constructed. Make a mental checklist of what it takes to be succesful. A commander is always good but I wouldn't pay too much for one as you can use Commander 0. You need hitters, some form of spell support and pretty much anything that breaks the game rules. I am hoping to see a Djinni in one of my packs just because Conceal 11, Fly and Whirlwind are all if not rule breaking atleast uncommon and useful abilities. Another thing I found was that just about anything with a decent ranged attack is going to atleast be a contender for being in my sealed bands. Everything else you really have to find out when you pop the boxes. | | Patience is a virtue and ignorance is bliss thus the world is full of stupid people waiting | |

The only place I've seen a Ettin is at the DK pre-release. | | They just don't know what's good in life...Conan, tell them what is good in life. To rip the boosters. To count the minis spilled out before you, and to hear the indifference of the women...

| | I have seen the Ettin around here as a counter to FB's. It has fallen off since the Drider ban. I haven't used it but I have seen it used effectively. | | Patience is a virtue and ignorance is bliss thus the world is full of stupid people waiting | |

Correct Pat! Thanks! I have received an e-mail back and found out that yes, the official word is 2 boosters of Angelfire for the tournament. Registration is limited also, so if you are interested in playing it is wise to either show up early or try to pre-reg. I believe for the site I will be helping, we will attempt to do a loose pre-reg, but also first come first serve. More information to come this week. (Store owner is out of town until mid week)

| | If we're not going to be using a Starter for the Pre-Release, what are we going to be using for tiles/map? I'm assuming something is going to be provided, since I doubt they'll expect us to bring our own, because of the posibility of first-timers. | | Stephen Padbury DDM: Ha 80/80x2 - 473 | De 60/60x2 - 306 | Ar 60/60x2 - 366 | GoL 72/72x2 - 437 | Ab 60/60x2 - 451 | Dk 60/60x2 - 578 | Af 60/60x2 - 548 | Ud 60/60x2 - 453 | Wd 60/60x2 - 438 |Repaint 40/45 - 163 | Total 4213 SWM: RS 54/60 - 179 | CS 24/60 - 54 | RotS 56/60 - 188 | U 50/60 - 146 | CF 44/60 - 84 | Total 651 AAM: BS 48/48 - 221 | S2 46/48 - 122 | CS 42/45 - 107| DD 17/45 - 18 | Total 468 Member of the Wizards of the Coast Delegate Program for Delaware | |

If I were you I'd bring your own tiles, map and dice like your supposed to do for any tourney.
I know I'm bring extras if Newbies show up and don't want to buy a starter.
From what I've heard from the FLGS, it is 2 boosters. | | They just don't know what's good in life...Conan, tell them what is good in life. To rip the boosters. To count the minis spilled out before you, and to hear the indifference of the women...

| Now I want more previews
By the time Deathknell was pre-released, there were about 10 previews if not more.
For Angelfire, we only have 6. I wonder why?
