It was a good time. I'll post the exact builds tomorrow and add some info on the other matches that Fearfrost didn't fight. I'll definitely want to run more sealed events, but I'm afraid my local gaming community will probably only go for it right at release time. If you're not still collecting a set, it's a prohibitively expensive format to play for many folks. If I had time to run some non-sanctioned events, I'd use a booster generator to do some mock sealed tournaments.

The first match was against Jeff (can't remember his maxminis handle):

Village Priest x2
Feral Minotaur x2
Justice Archon
Celestial Pegasus
Kobold Soldier x2
Hobgoblin Impaler
Dwarf Mercenary

Strangely, Jeff had boosters that were almost mirrors of each other, as you can see. The band was pretty solid if he could get the minotaurs into position to charge. He surprised some opponents with the pounce/powerful charge combo. His match against Fearfrost would have been a lot more tight if not for some remarkably bad rolling and the math mistake.

2nd match was against Jesse (CaptKoolAid13):
Bugbear Champion of Erythnul
Chain Devil
Weretiger
Dire Guard
Dwarf Wizard
Elf Swashbuckler
Dwarf Mercenary x2
Skeletal Archer x2

Jesse definitely could have won if he had kept assault points in mind.

3rd match was against David:
Cleric of Dol Arrah
Barbed Devil
Chraal
Wild Elf Raider x2
Abyssal Skulker x2
Xeph Warrior

I remember I was wandering around, checking on matches, as usual. When I came back to this fight, I noticed that the Chraal, which had been surrounded by enemies and allies, was gone. I commented, "Huh, nothing died when the Chraal blew up?" Alan (Fearfrost) and Dave both opened their eyes wide when they realized they had forgotten the death burst. I almost ruled it was too late, since at least two turns had gone by since the elimination of the Chraal, but both players seemed to want to resolve it. It was too big a mistake to blow off, since at least 6 other creatures (some on each side) should have taken damage. It looked like things were resolved fairly, so I let it go ahead, especially since this was a sealed tournament being played with totally unfamiliar creatures. I don't know whether the battle's outcome would have been any different had the death burst not been factored in. In a more competitive environment, I would have had to rule that it was too late to correct the mistake.

The 4th match was the first round of the finals. This was a brother vs. brother matchup. Alan covered Matt's whole warband, so I don't need to elaborate, except to note Matt's warband name, "Legion of Good...plus Chraal". Oh, I'll also mention that Alan's band was named, "Run Fast, Die Faster". [:)]

The other two finalists were Jeff and David. David won the other 1st round match of the final. Jeff's minotaurs, primarily, very nearly managed to finish off the Barbed Devil, but he wasn't able to win initiative when he needed to (Cleric of Dol Arrah just adds too much to init) and the cleric was able to heal the devil. As time ran down, they realized they weren't going to be able to kill off each other's big creatures and the match would be decided on tile points. Dave had lost his Abyssal Skulkers and had lost control of the treasure room where he was earning tile points, but he was just barely able to sneak his cleric all the way onto Jeff's assembly tile in the last round. Those last 10 points sealed his victory in a close match.

The final would have been Matt vs. David, but Alan (Fearfrost) and Matt had to leave early. Dave accepted a draw, rather than forcing Matt to concede.

The other two bands that didn't make the final were:
Matt Reed (xredmenacex):
Stone Giant
Ogre Mage
Werebear
Longstrider Ranger
Kobold Soldier
Xeph Warrior

It wasn't a bad band. I wish I could remember how his matches went. I waited too long to jot down any notes. I'm afraid I forgot.

and Ben, the youngest of our crew:
Sword Archon
Spiker Champion
Troll Slasher
Thorn
Dwarf Mercenary
Hobgoblin Impaler
Caravan Guard
Skeletal Archer

I mentioned in another thread that I played against the byes using:
Archmage
Wand Expert
Cleric of Dol Arrah
Direguard

Very fun band. I beat Jesse, Ben and Matt (in a very close finish), but I think Alan might
