So I went 2-2 with an LE band - Snig + 4 sniglets, Chraal and Efreeti. It was risky having the Chraal tied to Snig, but it paid off half the time at least.

First match: vs. Jason's son Devon - BB Champ, Draegloth, fodder. I forgot about MR2 and the Draegloth got one attack on Snig over the heads of his sniglets. Lucky me, he rolled a 1. Efreeti and Chraal then ganged up on him. He conceded after I killed the Draegloth.

Second match: vs. Aaron - Snig + lets, Blue, 2 Doogie Champs, 3 Kobold Miners. I forgot to add the extra damage from Cave of Pain, and one of his Doogies survived one round longer than it should have as a result. It came down to one Doogie and Kobold Miner vs my Snig - Doogie hits, routs, KM kills Snig with an AoO. Humiliating, especially when I should have won. Pay attention, John!

Third match: vs. Ed - Death Slaad, Tiefling, 2 Orc Warriors, 4 Abyssal Maws. I threw the Efreeti out as chaos hammer bait, and he bit. One guy took ten damage instead of my entire army possibly routing. He then bunched up all his guys in a corridor (on Mithril Mines), Chraal breathed and wiped most of them out. The dang Maws took no damage from a successful save, and I had to take them out the hard way. Again, bad placement - I forgot the Death Slaad flies, and it cost me Snig and the Chraal. In the end his Death Slaad routed and rallied, and I had my Efreeti and 4 sniglets. The sniglets grabbed tiles, and since it was Plunder, I got 15 points per round. When the Efreeti and Slaad finally duked it out, the Efreeti won, but by that time I had so many tile points, I could've lost the Efreeti and still won on points.

Last match: vs. Ben (frogrodeo) - Eye and 7 Orc Brutes. Freaking orcs are FAST! I plugged three pathways to Snig, he found a fourth and zoomed in. Eye cleft Snig from nose to navel in one shot. The frustrating part is that we had the same dice rolls for initiative 3 or 4 times, but his Cmdr 1 beat my Cmdr 0. It eventually came down to Eye and 3 brutes vs Efreeti, Efreeti took out 2 brutes with spells, but Eye and last brute kept zipping between two different victory areas. Out-of-command Efreeti couldn't catch up, no matter where I moved him, so I conceded. I might have beaten him in a straight-up fight.

There were 8 or 9 of us there, so we all got Epic Lolth cards. Next tourney will be Epic in 2 weeks.

Jason (newtoncain) took first place with GFD and 2 Xendricks, John K. took second with Urthok and Bugbears, Matt took 3rd with Arachnomancer and gobs of Spiders, Ben was 4th, I was 5th I think, Scott (gunthar) was there with a Wiz Tac, Bladesinger and CG fodder, Victor also had Urthok and hobgoblins (no Drow this time), Aaron dropped out, Ed was next I think, and Matt's friend was there but I didn't meet him or see what he played.

I maintained my record of missing Conceal anytime I crit something that has it. I was a sad panda. [:(]

I went in wanting to finally try teh Wizard Tactician as I knew Snig would be out.

He was a few times, but I never got matched up with him.

I went with:
Bladesinger
Wizard Tactician
Half-Ogre Barbarian
Two Elf Warriors
Two Xeph

I HATE morale saves and conceal. I thik I got ONE Bigby's to stick all day and the Half Ogre ran all but once, but missed conceal too many times during that game.

I got play in this oneΖD].

I ran GFD, Xer Champ x 2 and a Hyena.

ROund 1 vs Aaron(Assault): His Dugar champs were too much for me and I lost.
Snig + boys, DC x 2, Blue and 3 kobold miners.

Round 2 vs Matt(CoP): He concceded after 20 minutes having killed nothing and had lost 2 x swarm of spiders and couple of Lolth's spiders.
Drow Arc, Swarm x 2, Lolths spider x 3

Round 3 vs Vickor(Plunder): Vickor charge right at me (piece meal) do to the Xer'd ranged attacks. I won in about 40 minutes.
Urthok, BBHG x 2, Decanter x 3 and dwarf w/ ac 22.

Round 4 vs John K (assault): THis battle raged for almost the entire time alloted. I won at the very end winning Int when my GFD had 15hps left and his Urthok had 10hps left. By far the best battle of the day.
Urthok, BBFP x 3, BB x 3 and Hobgoblin.

There were 4 of us at 3-1 at the end of the day, but I lucked out and took the top spot.

Everyone recieved a AoL epic card and a spider repaint. We drafted from 3 UD booster (Artimis, MDP and HH).

It was fun to finally get to play again.

Next tourney is in 2 weeks, 500pt epic/extreme.

I ended up going 3-1 and placing 3rd with My orc band: Eye and 7 Orc Brutes. I ended up getting a Mounted Drow Patrol in the prize draft. The speed 9 Brutes saved the day for me a number of times, but they went down quicker than I would have like all day.

Assault - 1st round vs Victor. I charged right in and started hacking away with the brutes, clearing a way for the Eye to get in and help with the bladebearers. After the bladebearers were out of the way, the Eye moved on to defeat Urthok to seal the win. 1-0

Cave of Pain - 2nd round against John K he was able to wipe out my brutes, and then 2 crits on the Eye left him at 10 HP. Problem was I needed to kill the 3 remaining enemy figs... Urthok not possible with just the eye. So close, without the 2 crits I think I would have won this one. 1-1

Plunder - 3rd round vs Gunthar - Scott had a good defensive setup, but a couple rushes and big hits from the brutes routed the 1/2 ogre barb. Then the eye went in and cleaned up. 2-1

Assault - 4th round vs Orion72 - I think we tied on every single initiative roll through the 4th round (maybe just 1 round we didnt), so amazingly I ended up wining init each time due to Commander 1. He did a great job blocking access to Snig, so it took me an extra round to get to him - I could only get the Eye within 3 spaces... luckily I won init by 1 point, and Snig was gone... along with the Chraal. The Efreet had me scared since one hit or spell on the eye (@55hp) would be morale, and one hit or spell on each of my 3 remaining Brutes would kill them outright - and with my low AC all around the Efreeti was not going to miss. Out-of-Command Efreet just couldn't keep up with the Eye and Brute since I could hide completely and move between the two scoring areas (summoning circle and spider web area on FoL map)... ended up winning on tile points rather than risking a dangerous fight. (Ok, not the strategy I intended to use or the prettiest way to win but the Eye was really afraid for his life!) In retrospect, I should have had the Eye at least send out the fodder to try and route the Efreet nasty - two hits for 20 could have routed him, and if not a 25 pt smack from the eye would have ended it... but alas I chose the weasley no risk approach, burn up the Efreets last 2 spells on my fodder and then run and hide. without speed 2 out-of-command rule I would have had to play this one differently. 3-1

IIRC, the old GoL temple map and 1 of the maps from Hell spike prison. I'll have to double check, but most likely we'll have to allow FoL also.

Aren't Hellspike and Tomb of QP both Epic maps?

The old GoL map does not have any victory areas. THe tomb of QP says it's epic on the map so I would assume that would be legal as well.

Yep, so if you brought the GoL one, I guess it would be a straight fight for kill points.

No doubt you would place emphasis on the part where his "Eye"s are gouged out! ..... Please no singing!!!
