| Play started at noon so it's possible and likely it'll go until late this evening depending on how many players there were.

| I had a chance to drop by around 2:30 pm to see how things were going. They were in the middle of the 3rd swiss round at that point. I'm sure they're into the 4th now. Here's how stuff stood after 2 swiss rounds:
36 players
2-0 players: Darien Stupack: 3x Gith Monk; Young Master; 2x Sacred Watcher Darsen Chen: 3x Slayer of Domiel; Village Priest John Wang: War Troll; Rakshasa; Zak Rak Jeff Asbury: 4x Gith Monk; Young Master Paul Johnson: 2x Zak Rak; Human Blackguard; Chraal Scott Schneider: Aspect of Kord; Arcane Ballista; Couatl; Cleric of Order Glyn Dewey: 3x Justicator; Cleric of Dol Arrah Kevin Cleveland: Marut; 3x Sacred Watcher; Couatl; Cleric of Yondalla John Sugden: 4x Justice Archon; Couatl
Derry and Eric (doranur) were judging. Most of the bay area players were there. 9 folks from Sacramento were there. 5 from So Cal. These numbers may be off, because there were quite a few people there that I didn't know. | | - Guy Fullerton Official D&D Miniatures Net Rep

| Glad you enjoy the figure breakdown. Putting it together gave me something to do while Derry and Eric ran the floor. [}:)] Having good floor judges makes the head judge's job easy. [:D]
I'm surprised at the metagame for this event myself. I did not expect more CG bands than LE. Only one Dual HGB band showed up. Lots of interesting bands. Darsen is running Triple Slayer and Scott Collins brougt Dual Aspect of Loth.
Given the large number of LG bands, I too am surprised that there aren't more warforged bodyguards.
After round 4 Scott and Kevin are the only undfeated players left.
Only 3 more rounds to the top 4...

To confirm, we are going to 7 swiss rounds ( we broke 33 players, which is the threshhold for 7 rounds ) At least the rounds have been reasonably tight. We should be done by 11pm PST.

| I got worked. 2-5. No report before Monday probably, if I do one.
I played hill giants. Bad matchups, some play mistakes, and bad luck on morale checks (In the end I made 5 out of 12, only one of which was at less than a 55% for success, most were at +14) pretty much sealed my fate. Definitely got outplayed in a couple matches. Oh well! | | Anson on WotC boards

| I went 5-2. My tie-breaks were not so hot though -- I finished 8th. I had been hoping to reach 50% so this was better than I had hoped.
I ran: Ryld Argith, Frenzied Berserker x2, Graycloak Ranger, Aramil, Devis, Wolf, Elf Warrior, Xeph Warrior on Dragon Shrine.
I suspect I had more than my fair share of luck overall (2 of IanB's aforementioned failed morales were against me). My 2 losses were to: Tried (Archmage, Inspiring Marshall, Rikka), and jgsugden (Justice Archon x4, Couatl)
Huge thanks to derry, doranur and ahmish for judging and congratulations to the 4 qualifiers. | | Have/Want List || Trade References

| Whew! That was tough. I had hoped I would make top 4 but I honestly didn't expect to do so. I had a fair amount of great luck during my run.
EDIT: Oops. Forgot to mention: I played Archmage+Dual Xendriks.
Match timeline 0-1 LE mixed (Rak, Zak, WarT, dual Large Duergars) 1-1 LG Kord/Couatl/Ballista 2-1 CG Triple Frenzied 3-1 LE Quad Zakyas 4-1 LG Triple Slayer of Domiel 5-1 LE mixed (2xDuergar Champs, Zak, Chraal, Blackguard) 6-1 LG Kord/Couatl/Ballista 6-2 LG GAS (triple monks, YM, 2xWatchers)
Some interesting tidbits:
I lost my first match against John W's LE mixed band. I got suckered into going for his War Troll very aggressively, when I should have been more patient and tried to find easier points elsewhere from behind a wall of blockers.
But luckily, I won my next 6 games to finish 6-1.
I lost map init my first two games and went 1-1.
I won map init the final 6 games of the tournament (including in the final 4), and went 5-1.
I should have lost to Triple Frenzied, but Devis managed to confuse a Frenzied and my Timber Wolf stunned one. Kings Road really saved me there.
Devis never used countersong.
I managed to keep my Archmage out of harms way for most of the tourney. As a result, he only had to make a morale check in 2 out of the 8 games (vs the first LE band and then against Darien's GAS). I passed both checks.
GAS is a terrible matchup, even with the Kings Road map. Dwayne and I were talking and we feel it could be the one band that actually gets harder to beat on the Archmage's preferred map. My Xendriks need 16s to hit a Gith Monk in the woods!
In my final game, I made some mistakes. And Darien capitalized on them. Archmage is a band that requires you to be totally on top of your game. However, even despite my errors, as it was, my AM failed a stun save (en route to getting battered by two unavoidable strikes. That was pretty much game.
The Xendriks did great. I don't think I would have qualified had I played the Rikka variant. Magic dmg on them and their ability to either snipe away or drop 15 dmg on pieces in melee was key against many of my matchups.
GameKastle ran a great event. Matt and the store always treat us well.
All my opponents were good players and excellent sports.
I played two players from SoCal, two from Sactown, one from Fresno, and three locals. Thanks to all my opponents for the enjoyable games. [:)]

| Oh, I ran the expected. Archmage, Rikka, Inspiring Marshal, Graycloak x2, Xeph Warrior x2, Devis, Timber Wolf x2 Map: Kings Road
I got my map once, and won on it, other than that I never got my map.
1-0 Sacred Marut <- Utter beadown..no comment 1-1 War Troll, Zakya, Rakshasa, 2x Large Duergar <- Lost by 8 pts..grawr, damn wolf. 1-2 Eye, Orc Champ, 2x Mounted Drow <- Archmage routed, stupid dual MDP's ruined my day! 1-3 4x Helmed Horror, DDM, Timber <- Lost Rikka, map, and every init. Horribly matchup. 2-3 Shuluth, DC x2, HH, DMM <- Got map, utter beatdown, nuff said. 3-3 Rikka Snake Eyes, Sacred Watcher, Aramil (Instead of 3rd JA) <- Very wavy results, I was up earlier then he was, then I was..etc. 4-3 Beholder, Gauth, Dark Naga <- Lost map, lost side, was 9 rounds of who can get tiles and peg units without risking my Archmage to the Beholder. Graycloaks did over 35 + 15 + 15 + 30 + 5 + 5 + 5 = 110 damage over the course of the game.
More detailed reports to come. Overall im happy, I came out with a posative record, didnt qualifiy, but hey, Grinder baby.. | | Welcome to Eternal Crack... "Corn is no place for a mighty warrior!" Champion of the Frost Salamander

Hm, those win/loss records can't possibly be correct (or was there a drop?), but I'll assume that the placement is correct.

| I placed 6th (5-2)in this tournament and was satisfied with the way I played. My band was
4x Gith Monks 1x Young Master 1x Aramil adventurer 1x Hill Dwarf Warrior 1x Man At Arms
Map: King's road Match 1 Win
First Match I Went up against Mike Domezio who was playing Couatl, kord, bodyguard. We played on his map drow outpost but I was able to eliminate his bodyguard fairly quickly and also brought a monk around back to get some autodamage and base the couatl. It was down hill from there for the kord.
Match 2 Win
This was vs Drake's triple frenzied with inspiring marshal. I decided to let the frenzieds come to me and tried to get them with autodamage. Unfortunatly they made 7 out of the first 8 stun saves but luckily the dice evened out in my favor and drake missed some key attack rolls. Young master got creamed pretty quickly by the FBs but I had already done enough damage and was eventually able to wipe them out.
Match 3 Win
I played this round vs John Sugden's (jgsugden) Justice for all 4x justice archon band. It was a bad matchup for him no doubt about it. We played on dragon shrine and I took the lower victory area near the exit and waited for him to come to me. He eventually did and it was a stun fest.
Match 4 Loss
This was vs Kevin Cleaveland and his Marut/Couatl/Sacred Watchers. I though my best bet was to bide my time on kings road and wait in the forest for my chance to strike. On round 3 I moved out doing autodamage to kill the standard barer and put 60 damage on the Marut. Kevin was able to do a hit and then another hit using the snake swiftness on my YM who was hiding in the trees in response. The next round 1 monk was routed but I was able to take down the marut. unfortunately the couatl with its sonic orbs and those hard to his SWs were able to lead me around until Kevin was able to get one more monk and win on points
Match 5 Loss
Played Stu Hill's Kord/brass Sam/ Crow shaman/ Goliath Barb
I made a mistake early in this game with positioning and by round 2 kord ran up and with a hit and then a snake’s swiftness he took out my YM before any of my monks were able to use any stunning attacks. I responded by stunning the shaman the kord and the sam. after unstunning Stu was able to rout off 1 monk with a kord hit and I sent the brass sam running but she rallied before running off. When the same came back the kord got off a whirlwind to hit my monks and I was in trouble. I was eventually able to kill kord and get the sam down to 15 but stu still wiped out my monks on won.
Match 6 Win
I played Paul's SWarm on king’s road. I decided to move my monks into the woods and wait for the SWarm to come to me. Once the ghosts and monks were whiffing it out in the woods Paul brought up the sword archon and I pulled off a monk to do auto damage to the archon and the next round was able to kill it using another monk. The rest of the match was just a bunch of misses with monks and sacred watchers trying to hit each other in the trees. Eventually the monks won this battle after quite a few rounds.
Match 7 Win
I played Jake's CE Quad variation using eye/orc champ/ and two MDPs . I moved 1 monk up early on to the kings road shared victory area and a MDP ran up and crited it. That was just about Jake's only good roll. I killed the tiefling cpt quickly with autodamage and Jake missed most of his stun saves and conceded eventually after I was able to wipe out a MDP and had orc champ and eye stunned with eye down to 10.
There were alot of good players in this tornament and i think everyone i had a chance to play against and thanks to gamekastle for putting on a great event
