| At the Sacramento, Ca prerelease It was dracolich on dracolich in the finals
My WB 499pts, 3-1, 1st place Dracolich Mountain Troll Demonic Gnoll Archer Small Black Dragon Small Copper Dragon Aasimar Fighter
As long you were ok with losing 256 points the draco softens up targets and the with all the BW I had everyone was injured and the troll was swinging +18/+13 when under command. My closest match was A Tordek/SoBD build But with 200 points of VP a speed 12 tordek Was never gonna catch me before I won on VP. My loss was more a result of bad dice rolls and underestimating the Blackspawn Exterminator, a rematch in the semis with average die rolls sent me to the finals.
The biggest reason for my success was the high amount of new and casual players who pulled the power pieces (Tia, Bah, Tordek, etc...). Also some of the better players seemed to get fairly poor pulls with a lot less synergy. | | Hunter of CE d20's. Destroyer of false hope and punisher evil dice across the planes.

| | I'm surprised two dracoliches made it to the finals. I played against one in our local prerelease and the 140 hp just didn't last long enough imo. Then again, the one I played against didn't have a mountain troll to maul me after the dracolich pounded on me for a bit. | |

| I played the Tiamat pull of the day and i lost (due to a really bad warband on my side) but it was a very new player who was still learning the game...

| | IIRC, I heard that they allowed the Paralysis to have an effect on the Aspects during the tournament, which is a no-no. The Aspects are dragons which are immune to paralysis. | | Champion of Meepo _*_ Myztek on the Wizards Boards. _*_ (2206 DDM on 03/06/06) Please note: The use of the indicates an attempt at humor ... often a bad attempt. | My apologies if I've offended anyone. I don't remember where to find the exact thread where this was mentioned, but as I recall, the thread went something like this:
A Dracolich player (who I thought was from the Sacramento area) said something about how they had done very well with the Dracolich in the prerelease. Then, someone questioned how they could do well with the piece given the frailty. The Dracolich player then responded by extolling the virtues of the Dracolich, including stating that it could do heavy damage to the Aspects if it paralyzed them on the first attack of a full attack. Someone then pointed out that this was not possible due to the Aspect's type.
From this discussion, I drew the conclusion that the Paralysis had been played wrong in Sacramento. It appears that I misunderstood something. My apologies. | | Champion of Meepo _*_ Myztek on the Wizards Boards. _*_ (2206 DDM on 03/06/06) Please note: The use of the indicates an attempt at humor ... often a bad attempt. I too must apologize "jgsugden", there obviously was a big misunderstanding. Please forgive me for the uncalled for comment. It's hard to understand what the meaning is when reading others statements. For the record, I do stand corrected about the dragon's immuneties, though It never came up in tournament play by my knowledge. | | DM
