| The tournament was Kyle, Konor, James, Stu, Stacy and myself
Stacy was running Marut/Coautl/Mephling on Drow Outpost Stu was running Orc Wolf Shaman/Dire Bear/other animals on Forest Cliff Lair James was running Cadaver Collector/Mordenkainen/Snig/Sniglets on Drow Outpost Konor was running a bunch of Duergar Champions (didn't play him and he's not my girlfriend, so I don't really know what he had other than that) on Dragon Shrine Kyle was playing 2x HGB on Queen Peregrine I was running a band that I keep playing, and seem to keep losing to the dice... Sword of Heironeous, 2x Gith Monk, Justice Archon, Sacred Watcher, Dwarf Artificer, Eberk, Aramil on Forest Cliff Lair (was King's Road) --- 33AC (Monk with double buff in forest with Sword's commander effect) is less than a 50% hit even for those "auto" hits of around +20
Round 1 (Stu): I set up on side A, as a speed 10 figure can just barely make it to the victory area on turn 1. Dire Bear critted on a monk, then ran away. The Shaman moved back to the beginning to attempt to rally him, but he failed again and ran off the board. Stu's dice only numbered from 1-9, with a 20 on there that seemed to come in pairs.
Round 2 (Kyle): This was a very tough matchup for him. I set up on Side A again, which was a mistake, as we ended up fighting the whole battle over on that side, which kept me away from the forest that makes this matchup an easy win. 23AC Justice Archon beats Enfeebled HGB's... although he did kill it with a crit from the first HGB, shortly before I finished it off. The second one made a valiant effort, but the AC's were too high for it to reliably hit, and my guys whittled him down until he ran away.
In the other key match, Konor's Duergars didn't like James' Mordenkainen
Round 3 (James): There were only 2 pieces of his that mattered... unfortunately, they mattered a lot. He won map, which made this a much harder battle than it would have been otherwise, and if he had gone after the Justice Archon twice, instead of killing the Sword first, than attacking the Archon, he probably would've won... However, I just barely managed to pull it out.
I was very happy to finally do well with this band, as it is a very versatile band that makes even the best beaters need to roll very well to hit. | | | |

I realized later it would not have mattered which way I went unless I had just focused on the archon throughout. At the point I felt a double attack at the archon would have mattered it still would not have killed the archon and with Heironeous still up the archon doesn't run. Mistake was earlier int he match when I went after the monk who had not activated instead of the archon; I was hoping to have the monk rout and remove the flank. Oh well at least I got to play with my Cadaver Collector. | | Champion of Cyclops

| | It would've been enough to kill the archon because of the 5 damage from Mordenkainen | | | |
