| We had an epic tourny this week for our sanctioned tourny. Having tried to play Tiamat last time and subsequently losing my #1 epic ranking in the state because of it, I chose to play something for fun. I played SUPER BAHAMUT:
Aspect of Bahamut Couatl x 2 Eberk Adventurer Dwarf Artificer Village Priest Redgar Adventurer Nebin Gnome Illusionist on King's Road
With Titan builds, I figure that that's your sole beater and have always buffed and pumped them up as much as I could. This is a take off an old Huge Gold Dragon army I built. Before I had the Cleric of Dol Arrah in it, but with Bahamut's Comm. 8 I left him out of this build. With this build, I've got the 2 Couatls for Snake SWiftness, Eberk for Divine Protection, the Artificer for Greater Magic Weapon and Legions Sheild of Faith, the Village Priest for Bless, Redgar to bring in Nebin, and Nebin to casts Blur. King's road is a great map for this type of band as Bahamut's F12 allows him to move with ease while most other pieces struggle with the trees.
First round I get paired with Jim McKinney. Jim came prepared for a 200 point tourny and had to throw together an Epic Army. He played Elminster, Archmage, Mordenkidin, Frenzy, Wand Expert, Greenfang Druid, Centaur Hero, Graycloak w/ wolf. I won my map so we played on King's Road. We dance for a few rounds before I rush Bahamut over to him. I had set up a perfect cone that would have caught Elminster, the Greenfang, the Wand Expert, and Mordy in it. Then I lost that init and he slapped me with 2 of Mordy's Swords. He tried a 3rd one but luckily Spell Resistance held up on it. Then I played beat the clock. Bahamut tried to take out as many spellcasters as he could, but he just couldn't get enough of them killed before he finally fell to the 2 Swords. Had I won that init for the cone it could have been a different game, but Jim played a really great game and the barrage of spellcasters was too tough for Bahamut. 0-1
Second round I play Allan who's using a Dual Purple Worm, Blackspawn, Redspawn, Tiefling Blademaster + Fodder band. Allan's dice really didn't like him during this game. He did not make 1 save on any breath weapons or any morale checks. He moves up everything towards Bahamut and I move up and fire my line at him. It catches both Worms and both Spawn. Everything fails to take 60. Then both Spawn fail their morale checks. Next round the spawn flee and he brings 1 worm over to me and tries to bring the other around the other side. Between Bahamut's full attack and the SS from the Couatls I take out the worm. Next round I move up and he's got his Tiefling, some fodder, and the other Worm by the central A/B Victory Area. I have Redgar who's there collecting VP. I breath my cone and lose Redgar to it, but it kills the fodder, the Tiefling and routes the Worm for game. It could have been alot different but failing all those saves hurt. 1-1
Last match I get the one match I didn't want. I'm playing Ken McCutchen who's playing a Triple Bluespawn Godslayer band, with Cleric of Nerull, Diseased Dire Rat, and 3 Kobold Miners. I get my map once again and it proved to be a big thing as the BSGS had a hard time going through the trees. With their large bases and the trees I was able to almost single out the slayers one by one and luckily he missed Bahamut several times. He got me down to 75 hps and CRITTED. However, God bless Nebin as he then rolled a 5 on the blur check. That allowed me to unload on the final slayer and then next round I was able to finish it off before it could finish me off. I definately did not expect to beat a Triple Godslayer band as it's got Bahamut Bane written all over it. 2-1
I ended up in 3rd after tie breaks. We drafted from 2 WODQ boosters and prizes were a Large Fang Dragon and War Weaver with Displacer Beast Pack Lord and Mountain Troll as the huges/rares. I got the War Weaver for placing 3rd which isn't bad. I really like Bahamut alot as well. Having Bahamut with a 30 AC, +25/+20/+20 attack, and with Conceal 6 is just nasty. Odds are that I may play this army again. It depends on if my 2-1 can get me back to the top of my Epic rankings. If not then I may try my Quint Beholders army. | | Champion of the Aspect of Damage

| | In terms of buffing bahamut with blur, doesn't he have CG dragons are legal in your warband? That would allow you to bring in the spellscale sorcerer for your blurring and RoE needs and it would be 7 pts cheaper than Regdar/Nebbin. | |

| | The Spellscale is a better choice. However, I've just yet to get one, which is why I opted for Redgar/Nebin. The Blur on a titan is a huge advantage and is needed I think. | | Champion of the Aspect of Damage
