| Hey, MN folks.
Since we'll be going for nearly a month without an 'official' tourney at the Den, I thought I'd get us all ready for the switch back to Saturdays by inviting the crew out for a 'casual Saturday'. Bring a 200, bring a 500, bring your Gargantuan Blacks and Colossal Reds. Bring your trade stock. I've got some ideas, and am willing to entertain more, but I guarantee you'll get to do something you've never done before.
Also, for those DDMers who miss doing RP, we're going to have a discussion on if, when, and how we can put together a DDM RP group, possibly featuring yours truly running the Age of Worms! (Now if only I can win the 2007 Constructeds so I can get an Aspect of Kyuss into the population before the end of the campaign...)

| Nice to see some responses to this thread.
The goal of Casual Saturday is to get together and do some stuff that we normally wouldn't get a chance to do. My hope is that we can get enough people together to try some cool things, but not to be so formal that everybody has to show up at a specific time to get started - if you can't make it until 2pm, you'll still get to do something as cool as the guys who showed up at 11am, just not as much of it. 
Anyway, here are some ideas I had for things we might try from a skirmish perspective:
- Free-for-alls versus the Icons dragons. Four 200-point warbands against the Gargantuan Black, or four 500-point warbands against the Colossal Red. Last man standing wins.
- The Assassin scenario. (See the WotC DDM site for more info on this and other scenarios.)
- A Limited auction. Bring (or buy) a single non-Huge booster and put it in the auction kitty. Once we get eight people to play, the judge secretly opens the boosters, sorts the cards by rarity and listed cost, and begins a blind auction, starting with rares from most to least expensive, then moving to uncommons and commons. Each player gets 300 points to bid with, and once you're done bidding you build a 200 point warband with what you 'bought'. The kicker is, what you paid for the piece in the auction is also the cost to play it in your warband! (How much do you bid for that Chraal knowing that someone else got a Phoelarch for 22?)
Feel free to add any other ideas you may have to this thread, or bring your ideas with you to the Den this coming Saturday, September 30.

| Thanks for the caution.
Senior seemed to think that the Den opens at 10am on Saturdays, but that might have been 'summer hours'. I'll be sure to check and update this thread when I have the right info.

| I have confirmed with the Den that they open at noon on Saturday. So don't show up at 11am!
But if you can't show up until 3, or even 6pm, that's cool, too - we're going to try to have neat things going on all day long. | |

This coming Tuesday my RP group takes on the upper level of the Tabernacle of Worms and Dragotha himself so I may have a few ideas and or a terrain piece or two you may want to use.
