looks like at least 12 people. Should be a good turnout. Perhaps if there is more product when we finish the first tournament, there might be a second flight. Not confirming, but I'd love it.

turns out we had 18 or 20.. 4 rounds then cut to top 4. And I managed to pull off a 4-0 in the first 4 rounds - mini recap I had a good but definately not stellar pull - Rares were Arcadian Hippogryph and Succubus. My final band was Red Hand War Sorcerer (AWESOME) Doombringer? - great extra piece for that DR mitigation for the Maug and bonus damage for the other pieces. Maug - Solid. the 2nd attack for 20 is awfully nice. Mezzolith - Very solid but not awesome Arcadian - I used this as a flanker and commander assassination (which allowed me to win almost every game by Morale Failures on my opponents) Hero of Valhalla - decent Greenspawn Sneak (Kerbusted piece!! totally a MUST PLAY if you pull it - it is horribly underpriced for what you get. Best tile grabber and fodder in the game IMO I went 4-0 in swiss and 2-0 in top 4, ending undefeated in a 6 round tourney by the skin of my teeth. Honestly my oppoents failed about 80% of their morale checks and I managed to kill off the commander before the big boys had to check. One of the people was visibly crushed when his Forgepriest broke for the hills. But honestly, my record really really needed this and I had a great time (winning does that I guess) but it was good to really sit down and PLAY again - its been a while since Ive played in a major tourney like this.

Congrats Ack! Did you face Solar or Vlaakith? Curious how your band fared agaisnt Titans. Esp routing a forgepriest who seems to be this releases version of Tordek. My solar was good but not great and never had to face a pit fiend.

I didnt face Vlaakith - but I did face a Solar. It was the commander for the Forgepriest. I was more than a bit scared about that fight.. but activation control came into play early and allowed me 9 activations between his 2 (after I killed his snakes). Opponents band 2x Fiendish Snakes, Forgepriest, Solar He won Map init (i only won once) and is playing on the map that makes the most sense - Drow Outpost. I start in the building side and quickly march forward so I can try to get all my hitters near the bridge.. but I underestimate my opponents desire to kill my commander and the speed of the solar. He moves to base my commanders in the back ranks with the Solar while the first snake dies to the sneak and the Maug and Forgepriest are staring at each other across a Hero of Valhalla (standing valiantly in the path of the giant!) my commander takes the AOO from the Solar (which of course hits, but I make my MC) and blasts him with a lightning bolt. I move Mezzoloth to a flanking position with the Doombringer and start the beating. Round 3 begins with the Hero swinging and hitting the giant and my sneak killing the 2nd snake . Im now at 7 activations to his 2. His solar misses my doombringer (with +7), hits my doombringer and then hits my Mezzoloth. Both models are now 1 swing from a MC.. great. Forgepriest swings and smooshes the Hero and then closes with Maug. Maug hits the forge priest twice, we rend into the Solar with everything Ive got and his commander is sweating.. Round 4 solar dies, forgepriest gets hit by maug then a lightning bolt and then some more and he goes running iirc. So - how did I beat that titan - hold him off with an 11 point piece, force him to not fully engage til round 3 or 4 and focus on the rest of the band. Using fearless Maug to make him actually KILL him (didnt happen) while Maug lays some beats of his own onto the forgepriest. but yeah - it was a mediocre pull that I managed to pilot (with alot of luck) to victory
