| | I can't wait for this one and I'm glad it is going to be in Dec. because I'm getting way too anxious already. Hopefully everyone will be able to make it, especially some of the players who don't get to play at many tournaments. I've been trying to score some older boosters off E-bay for this but it's proving to be more difficult than I thought. But after seeing most of the stats from Blood War I think it may be more fun to bring two of those instead. Hope to see everyone there! | | | |

| I hope we can, but that will bepend on how long it takes for the draft and warband building. If we are all fast then we will be able to start sooner. The draft will take 15 min and then 20 for warband building. So the first round will start as soon as possible.

| I'm game to start whenever, just tell me when to be there and I'll be there (hopefully with a friend or two).
So when do we get to see the trophies so we can all get really excited and pumped up for the tournament. If the trophy is as good as you say it is then we should have no problem attracting plenty of people to the tournament with a couple pics....... Please.....

| I didn't even know Caustic Mouse was doing trophies! After seeing the work he's done, I think I would be more excited about his than Runelord's (Though they are both extremely talented).
Oh and if one of the trophies is any one of the last 3 Runelord has posted on Hordelings then that is so cool. I think I would especially like the Maug since I've been building a lot of bands around him lately. Looking forward to seeing them in person tommorow....hopefully.

Caustic Mouse is painting up 8 minis (commons/uncommons) Runelords are the **** and the ****** *****.
So get everyone who you can to attend as we will have repaint trophies for the top 10 players! that does not include the extra from the event its self.

| | So I am guessing the Maug and the Horned Devil are the prizes. Both look simply amazing! He even went as far as equiping the Maug with its double bladed weapon! I must find a way to be sneaky and get there.............. | | "Like a thief in the Night"

| While I acknowledge that my stuff is not nearly as cool as the great Runelord I have volunteered a couple of common/uncommon repaints from each faction to be handed out in addition the other prize support. We should have prize support all the way to 10th place, 11th if I place 3-10th.
My idea was to repaint figures that people would most likely use in a warband. I repainted a few of these figs awhile ago so they aren't that new and exciting but still usable.
Lawful Good Common: Man-at-Arms (har) Uncommon: Gith Monk
Chaotic Good Common: Xeph Warrior Uncommon: Moon Elf Fighter
Chaotic Evil Common: Orc Warrior Uncommon: Hill Giant Barbarian
Lawful Evil Common: Greenspawn Sneak Uncommon: Duergar Champion
Here are a few photos I have posted before.

| I'm very new to the DDM hobby. I live in the SLC area. I have a few booster sets but never played tournements before. So, please forgive me if these are very basic questions.
At Hastur's Games about how many show up for the tournements? Also, how long to the tournements take? I'm not sure if I will be able to attend yet, but I'm thinking about it.
Do players meet at Hastur's every weekend to play, even on "non event" days?
Those repainted Minis look great!

I hope I can answer your questions, and you will be forgiven of all questions as long as you show to an event.
Staurday events are hard to get players to show unless it is a major event. This is a major event so I hope to see at least 10 players. Thursday night at The Black Rose sees the most players, but we only get 2 rounds in.
events: 1st Saturday of each month is held at the Game Den in the valley fair mall 3rd Saturday of each month is held at Hasturs hobbie. 4th Saturday of each month is an event at the Game Den in the Provo town mall, I do not run this event so I do not know how well they go.
All events start at 12:00 (noon) although we tried to move it to 11 but less players showed. Most events cost $5 unless it is a mojor event or sealed.
Every Thursday is the Black Rose. This event is free or $5 if you want a chance to get the prize support. This is a great chance to get to learn the game.
The events last as long as it takes or we are kicked out. Each round is 1hr (or 50 min for non major event) Rounds are played until there is 1 player who has not lost an match. for with 8 players you have 3 rounds.
Many DDM players do not show up to a store to play. we will show to an evnet. sometimes we will gather at another players house if we want a pickup game.
I try to keep track of all DDM in Utah that I know of and in the meeting place I have a thrade listing places that run events. The dates are not uptodate.
I hope you will be able to make it this saturday. Even if you just stop by and see us. If you have to leave early, it is still ok to show up and play.

| | It seems I never really get much sleep before the Open Championships. I guess I'm just too excited to sleep. I'm thinking/hoping there will be 10 - 15 people there so it should make for a fun tournament, especially with all the repaints and other prizes. Anyway if anybody wants to bring their trade stuff then we could do a little trading afterwards when we know what new stuff we have. I'll be bringing all my stuff so I'm hoping others do too. See you all tommorow.....bright and early | | | |

| The tournament was a blast. Thanks Spikegif for running these events. And thanks even more for footing the $90 for the re-paints and judging without getting to play.
I had a great time. Of course, Drakkenji pulled a PIT FIEND and FIRE GIANT in his two boosters.
I pulled a Shuluth and then was able to pull 2 Maugs in the draft. I also had two ELF WAR MAGES, but couldn't run everything. I did run 1 War Mage, and she really did the job on the last game, but not on the others.
I had one loss and got 3rd place, a booster and an Orc Warrior repaint: http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j312/caustic_mouse/CEFodder.jpg
The DDM community is the best. Thanks, guys.
See you next time!

Also, thanks to everybody else there for being so welcoming and friendly to the new guy.

| Well, I'm glad I was able to show up and round out the draft. Sorry I couldn't stay any longer...I had to pick up my wife (she had 18 inches of hair cut off) and make it to a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert this afternoon (was a blast...third time my wife and I have seen them in concert).
Despite having to leave early, it was nice to draft (I've drafted Magic before, but never DDM). I pulled an Ice Devil and an Archmage, two rares I didn't have. Spikegif was nice and even let me join in on prize support...I grabbed the Gith Monk. Thanks!
I also wanted to thank everyone for being so nice. Obviously, I showed up not planning on playing. However, everyone was willing to lend me maps, pencils, dice, and I even had offers on (loaned) boosters. It's great to know that there's such a solid, friendly gaming community in the area.
