Went to two pre-releases last weekend (yay for minis-loving friends with big cars!)

Won the Minneapolis pre-release (6-1) with this:

Fire Giant Forgepriest
Kolyarut
Maug
Hammerer
Fiendish Snake
Kobold Monk

I went without a commander - not even a commander 0 - and the Forgepriest did end up routing off the board in three of the seven games, but he did so much damage before he left that the 175 Fearless HP I had left were generally able to clean up.

Went to Madison the next day (along with Lord_Rahl) and went 3-2 with this:

Horned Devil
Red Hand War Sorcerer
Shadowdancer
Karsite Fighter
Hammerer
Fiendish Snake
Kobold Monk

I was very close to going 5-0, but by those odds I was also very close to going 2-3 that day, as well as going 3-4 the day before; I got a lot more luck than I gave up that weekend.

Looking forward to the qualifiers!

Went 4:0 FTW with:

Storm Silverhand
Hellcat
Maug
Gnome Trickster
Greenspawn Sneak
Free League Ranger

The maug went down faster than I thought he would. Gnomes Invis Sphere was awesome, as was Hellcat's Conceal. Storm packs quite a punch and flying maug/hellcat is quite amusing.

It was a tough slog, and a couple of the wins were tight ones, but I somehow managed to squeak through in the end.

I will  be a man and broadcast my horrrrrrrrrendous turnout at my first tournament. I played at ALTERNATE UNIVERSES in HOLMES,PA.

I used:

Lord of blades
Maug
Green Slaad
Arceron Goblin ( nice fodder HP)
2 Reapers

I went 0-3. My son DEVON went 1-3 ; beating the old man overall and head to head. Needless to say I gave him his opportunity to gloat. Which by the way lasted all day. In fact I was competitive in all matches and my son took me out fast.

I almost beat the guy in my last match which would have allowed me to play another one and by that time I had really gotten the hang of my band. I made a horrible mistake. The time was up and we had to play out the round. I was up on victory points and the only piece he would have been able to kill was my green slaad. That also would have edged me out for VPS and I would loose. Well instead of moving him well away from his Orc Wizard I attacked something ( I can't remember what),; but he could still move the wizard to cast that spell that does like 25 dmg. He did and KILLED MY SLAAD. I rolled a 3 for a DC of I believe it was 14. What kills me is that I had a 75% chance in my favor and still lost.

NOTE: Green Slaad is good for running distractions and giving cover to your advancing warband. His spells are hard to set up because you don't know what you will get.

Champion of Grape Juice. Its delicious.

I played in a Release tournament this past weeked in Metairie, LA.

Warband:
Greenspawn Sneak
Dragonmark Heir of Deneith
Large Water Elemental
Marilith
Harmonium Guard
Orc Wizard
Map selected: Drow Outpost

I went 2-1. I lost to Vlaakith and the Arcadian Hippogriff. The Orc Wizzard's Battering Ram spells were fun. I was able to push an unhurt Centaur War Hulk into a pit as well as a couple other minor figs during the tournament.
