Here’s my report for the day. My band: Horned Devil Urthok Dragonmark heir Snig the Axe (3 x Goblin Skirmishers) 3 x Acheron Goblins Greenspawn Sneak Map: Drowoutpost My plan was to clog the bridge with tough little goblins, swing and stun my enemies from across the pit with the Devil protected from energy by the bodyguard. When my goblins were gone or a key figure was exposed the Devil would fly or dimension door in and do his thing. The other six players: From Rochester John, Ross, Rich From Syracuse Jay, Mark, Eric Round 1 Vs John, who played the same band as mine, except he switched a firegiant forgepriest for the devil and a couple of warriors for skirmishers. We played on drow outpost and I set up on the outpost side. I had my greenspawn on my victory area & he had his on the combined area. He won first round iniative and killed my greenspawn with his we both moved up our armies for the fight on the bridge. He scored victory points on the first and I did not, so he was ahead. The second and third round we traded goblins on the bridge. John was ahead on points and activations because of the first round so I thought if I kept this up he would win by and his Urthok was lagging behind so in the forth round I double move my devil to threaten Urthok and be out of reach of the giant. He bases the devil with a warrior and an acheron goblin and moved Urthok away to next to his bodyguard. The next round I move my devil after Urthok hit the bodyguard takes the blow so no morale, and she passes her stun save so now I am in trouble. The giant moves in and crits my devil and his goblins move in and hit with flank, and I am in big trouble. I stay and swing it out hoping for a lucky stun on the giant but the giant finishes off my devil and that is game. 0 – 1. Round 2 Bye 1 – 1. Round 3 Vs Mark who played Tordek dwarf champ, thundertusk cavalry, battle plate marshall, eberk, dwarf artificer, warforged scout, & 2 x hill dwarf warrior. We both had drow outpost so we played on it. I won set up and set up on the outpost side with my sneak on the shared victory area. He set up his scout in his victory area in the room. I debated with myself whether to go after the scout with my acheron goblins figuring they could get rid of it and use my others to hold the bridge until they arrived, go after his scout with the horned devil and get rid of it quickly, or ignore it. I decided that it was a job for the goblins, because I wanted the devil to get as many swings as he could at juicer targets, which was a mistake. I should have ignored it. My dragonmark cast engery protection electric on my devil to help him last longer verses Tordek. Mark cast greater magic weapon and magic weapon on the tundertusk and Tordek during the first round. He cast divine protection and legions shield of faith on the second for some killer AC’s. Mark used his mounted melee attack in the third and fourth rounds to thin out my goblins and spawn and clear the bridge. I had to move Urthok in to rout his scout after several rounds of missing with my bolstered acherons. He was ahead on points and now I was not collecting victory points so I was in trouble again. I moved my devil up to the bridge to collect victory points, and get a clear shot at his thundertusk. On several attacks on the thundertusk I never managed to stun it and it made it’s morale save so now I was in more trouble. Mark used the battleplate marshall’s grant dwarf move to surround my devil. With flanks even his artificer was hitting my devil. The devil passed his morale check, but soon died ending the game. 1 – 2. I made some mistakes, and took some risk, when I was behind, but for this band to be effective I think a second melee threat like a duergar champion instead of the bodyguard would have been a better choice. The Results: Eric 3-0 with a bye in round 1 (ouch travel an hour to play and then sit for an hour), a win vs John in round 2, and a win verse Jay in round 3. Jay 2-1 with wins verse Mark and Ross. John 2-1 with wins verse me, a loss to Eric, and a win verse Ross. Mark 2-1 lost to Jay, beat Rich, beat me. Ross 1-2 beat Rich, lost to Jay in a close one, lost to John. Rich 1-2 Tom (me) 1-2 Turn out was a little low; there are at least four more regular players who could not make it this week because of the holiday. In two weeks we are playing again (500). I apologize if I got anyone’s name, band, or record wrong.

Great report Tom.  Thanks much.Â

It sounds like it was a small group this time.  Probably because of the holiday - too many folks stuffed with turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, and dessert.Â

I'm hoping to make it is two weeks for the 500.Â

Cheers.Â

What did Eric play? Going 2-0 with a bye it had to be decent.
