Tournament Report.  Another well run and well done 500 pt Epic Tournament at Millenium.ÂWe had 8 players.  To the best I can remember the warbands were:  1) Epic Solar and x4 Maugs + filler 2) Epic Marilith, Vlaakith, Orc Wardrummer, filler 3) Epic Death Slaad, Formoriam Giant, and x2 Green Slaad, filler 4) x2 Githyanki Dragonriders, not sure of the rest or Epic status 5) Bahamut, Spellscale Sorcerer, Kolyarut, Dragonmark Heir, Eberk, Celestial Dire Badger, Half Orc Spy, Dwarf Artificer (Tom (the Hev)) 6) Epic Tordek, x2 Gnome Trickster, Ghale Eladrin, Eberk, Spellscale Sorcerer Regdar, Satyr (Jerimiah) 7) Epic Mounted Paladin, Solar, CoDA, Paladin of Torm, Justicator, Dwarf Artificer (Ross)  I ran the following warband:  Lord Soth 98 Cadaver Collector Cadaver Collector Cadaver Collector Firegiant Forgepriest x2 Warrior Skeletons (potential targets for CC BW if vs invisible enemy) Kobold Miner (hopefully for some 1st round VP’s wuntil the rest of my slow band could get some)  Map: Hellspike (Lord Soth's Blindsight let him get off his Abysmal Blast in all 3 games as I won map initiative all 3 times).  First Match versus Tom (as usual, the DCI pairs us off against eachother) WARBAND #5 above Won initiative and droped the Abysmal Blast on 4 of his minis set up in 4 square area (kill or rout Eberk and Badger).ÂBahamut flies over to my end of the map and takes out the FGFP.ÂI closed in with the CC's and attack.ÂBahamut bases Lord Soth and might have won if he killed him.ÂUltimately, it came down to a couple of die rolls as 2 of 3 CC's base Bahamut (one scores a critical) and I had him at 10 HP.ÂThe CC's then finish him off (even if he runs its 2 AoO’s and likely death.ÂI almost blew this game by sending a CC after the Half Orc Spy, but I only spent 1 swing on him and had enough time to still close on Bahamut.  Record 1-0  2nd Match versus Jerimiah, WARBAND # 6 above I was worried about this one.ÂMy opponent hid his minis well and I could not get a 1st move blast off.ÂSo I let him go first.ÂWe both moved and I moved Soth last and blasted 4 of his figures who had grouped to close together.ÂAll made their save except Regdar and took only half damage.ÂSecond round I moved a CC up to his commander and used the Paralysis BW.ÂI caught his Ghalae, Spellscale, one Gnome Trickster, and Eberk.ÂThe 2 low levels made their save and Ghalae and SS failed theirs.ÂI took them out next round while Tordek took out one CC.ÂI moved Lord Soth close to Tordek while hitting him with the CC’s and FGFP.ÂTordek moved next to Soth next round (as I hoped) and next CC attack forced MC, which Tordek failed by margin from Soth’s Aura of Fear.ÂTordek then failed 2nd MC and routed off board.ÂEnd of game.  Record 2-0  3rd Match versus Ross, WARBAND #7 above. Another match I was worried about with the Solar and his Arrow of Slaying.ÂLuckily I caught the whole warband with Soth’s Abysmal Blast, putting damage on everything prior to engagement.ÂNothing routed or was destroyed, but it gave me an early advantage.ÂMy opponent moved his Mnt Paladin to his VP area but too far ahead of the rest of his force and I was able to cut him off with the CC’s.ÂI used BW to paralyze the CoDA (Solar, Pally of Torm both make save) and it was enough advantage, plus the Solar was based and the Arrow of Slaying could not be used.ÂThe CC’s pounded on the Solar and kill it while I lose 1 CC.ÂThe Mnt Pally works on my FGFP who makes his MC.ÂLast 2 CC’s attack Justicator and Pally of Torm.ÂThe CC’s take out Pally of Torm and cause an MC on Justicator who rolls a 2 and routs (and fails 2nd MC next round to rout off the board).ÂFGFP gets last round of swings on Mnt Pally and then gets toasted.ÂSoth takes out CoDA and last 2 CC’s take out Mnt Pally.ÂGame.  Record 3-0  A great time and a great group of players.  Happy Holidays one and all and see ya next year!Â
Cheers.Â
