Hopefully it's not too late to announce a Casual Sunday at the Monster Den for this coming Sunday, December 10.
Plan to bring plenty of warbands, because our two ideas are warband-heavy:
1. A 250 point 'reserve' event.
Bring a 250 point warband and a map. As part of map initiative, declare the initiative modifier you're using. When you set up, set up only 200 points worth of pieces. If you declared an initiative modifier during map init, you must include at least one commander who can grant that initiative or higher as part of your on-board warband.
2. the Warlords of Meldore scenario
From the WotC site ([http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mi/20060831c]).
Each player will build three warbands for this campaign. Each is built around a single warlord. The warlord must be a commander, and it must have the highest commander rating in the 100pt warband. You may include commanders with higher ratings in the second and third bands. If the warlord has an Epic version, it can be used in the Epic skirmish and count as the same warlord. The same is true for different versions of unique figures such as Snig.
Warbands are built around a single faction. Mixed-faction commanders must choose a single faction to build their warbands around. Use the standard rules of warband building. List each of your warbands on the Army Roster (included in the download on the WotC site - we'll try to have copies at the Den). Be sure to list a map for each warband.
This'll just be for fun unless people want to kick in cash to buy boosters and have a prize draft at the end.

Warlords of Meldore is fun!!! I've won twice with Mind Flayer and BPM as my WLs, and Calicles won the last one with the Lich Necro as his WL.
You guys should just rent a bus and come out here to play with usÂ
