Still should be a tough crowd...besides the mighty Tundrin there is Joe, and there are several guys named John that usually show up, at least one of them is pretty expert IIRC...then there's Bill S. and there's Matt who usually comes as well both of them usually kick plastic butt.
This is my plan, please keep in mind I'm a duffer as well.Â
Last time I had two powerful Rares, a Horned Devil and a Gith Dragon rider. I could have made a band with both of them plus one or two fodder pieces.  Â
But instead of dropping my two powerful pieces on the board I opted to leave out the Gith Dragon Rider to run a "standard" balanced 8 piece warband based on the horned Devil.
Due to the limitations of sealed most of the games were just head-on slugfests...so this time I'm not going to worry about a "standard" band if it means leaving any powerful pieces out of the band.

| I was lucky against matt in 3rd round last time, he had a sad look on his face with his Lillend having its beguile not work twice. But he is #1 in NJ so watch out!
Hmmm Mighty Tundrin eh? Considering I took that name from my first e3.5 character, a scrawny plainsman sorcerer, tagging along after his barbarian brother....
And I am driving >2hrs to get there.
But as you mentioned, 8 activations is a luxury in sealed. I stretched for 6 in BW ( but wsa using a Solar) and ther are not many cheap pieces in this set either - no scouts this time (I used 2 sneaks in BW to good effect).
there were many bands with 6 or fewer acts.

A 2.5 hour drive to go to and then get home from a tourney that STARTS at 7PM is not something i look forward too.
But better get a map, because that is where the closest constructed qualifier is likely to be. | |
