Well, after missing our exit, we got to the tournament ok.  Dunno how we missed the exit, but there were two of us, so i consier it a joint effort. *ahem*

I pulled Lady Vol and Wulfgar as rares.  i was pretty psyched. heres what i played:

Lady Vol - 98pts
Wulfgar - 54 Pts
Hobgoblin Sargeant - 22pts
Kuo-toa Hunter - 9pts
Carnage Demon - 10pts
Krenshar - 7 pts.

the idea was to the beat peoples faces until they cried.  with a small amount of help from Motivate.  trust me, it worked. heres how my rounds went, in a nutshell.

Round 1

I faced against a Loviatar, a great barghest, two carnage demons, a delver sargeant, a big eagle, and some others.  this game ended up going quick once Vol was motivated into position, and breathed on a large part of this army.  Wulfgar came in swinging across the bridge (played most of my games on Outpost), and they folded.  very well played, Loviatar just couldn't stand up to two huge beaters. 1-0

Round 2

In this round i faced off against a noble salamander, a Dracotaur rager, and i can't remember what else.  Wulfgar threw a hammer at the noble, and hit, then Vol closed in for melee.  a bad round of attacks for the Salamander, and wulfgar being motivated into position, spelled doom for that piece.  the Rager tried to come about back with his high movements, but some fodder blocked his two wide paths, and he wasn't able to come rescue his troubled bretheren.  2-0

Round 3

This round was played on Thieves Quarter.  I played against a large brass golem, a MindFlayer lich, a mithral hall guard, a prisoner, a warpriest of vandria, and i can't remember the rest.  I moved my Kuo-toa into a victory area, and every one else made for the middle, where the brass golem was.  we ended him quick, with a motivate, and alot of attacks, then Wulfgar became stunned from the Lich, but Vol was there to beat him up for a couple rounds while Wulfgar shook his head.  after the Lich went, the vandria went down easy. 3-0

Top Four-

thats right, there were only three rounds, then the top four.  very small for a prerelease.

Round 1- I played against a VERY tough army.  Large Shadow Dragon, Large White Dragon, Champion of Dol Dorn, Hobgoblin Sargeant, 2x Mithral hall gaurd and one other piece i can't remember.  This game went the distance.  Vol pushed up and breathed, hoping that the dol dorn would fail, which he didn't.  the dragons hung back, afraid of our high damage output, but once they came in, the Dol Dorn was already dead.  he had done his damage though! 50 points to Vol!  and then to top it off, his little mithral hall gaurds had also hit her once each!  she was hurting.  when the shadow came in and flanked wulfgar, Wulfgar cried as he took 60 damage, forcing morale, which he failed!  louckily, he railed himself, and came back, tossing his hammer at opportune moments, which made the white dragon fun off the board.  Vol finished off the Shadow just in time (10 hps left!) and Wulfgar came in swinging the last of the activiations away, a VERY close game. i think i had 25 hps left between Wulfgar and Vol. 1-0 (4-0)

Round 2

My last game was against the guy i came to the tournament with.  we were happy to get first and second, so we played it out for fun, and if his banebreak rider hadn't routed, i think he would have won.  2-0 (5-0)

It was a great tournament, Crossroad games in Standish ME is a great shop, and Brendan and Chris are excellent owners! great job guys!
