| so I went tenth because my dice truely truely hated me... 11 4's in 2 games and a single crit in 4... Ouch...
So I was happy with my play overall... 3 games were decided on a single die roll and you've already heard my luck so...
MF Lich umberhulk delver x2 Rot scarab delver sergt deathjump x2 boneshard
Classicish umberlich on a surprise map... Broken demongate...
I went with this map so that the flow of traffic was completely controlled. You know where things are going to happen and with the burrowers you have some very interesting tactical advantages while being able to keep the lich way back. You lose some first round line of sight but you're more protected with the slow hulks. This ended up not really nattering as I won map once and lost to my own trick.
Round one: the bye... I hate byes... I arrive 10 mind before a tourny usually so I don't have to wait around... A first round bye is nice only if you win out.
Round 2: lg gold merc general delver sergt minion farmers
This is the band I expected to beat handidly if he didn't kill my rot scarab round one... He didn't... Between scarab and sapps from my umberhulk the lg gold got two hits on one of my delvers then went to stun land til death. +21 4x a round + cones and deathminds makes a dragon die quickly... Win...

| There are two reports over at Hordelings.
http://www.hordelings.com/forums/postView.php?post_id=141705&viewPage=0#141705
http://www.hordelings.com/forums/postView.php?post_id=141710&viewPage=0#141710 But I can post mine here too. This was my second qualifier and second official constructed tournement. I tend to frequent pre-release only.
I was 6th at Lacey, one of the plucky locals, and ran Dual Exarchs. I went
3-2.
The band:
2x Exarch of Tyranny
2x Snaketongue Cultist
2x Kobold Archer
1x Howling Hag
1x Visejaw Crocodile
I like the way the band preformed. Some are probably asking “Why the croc?”
Well, it was a tough decision, but I consider the croc fairly sturdy and it has
decent damage output, plus it can immobilize.
Problems going in: Conceal, Ranged, Bad maps.
Couldn’t
see how to beat conceal, other than hoping for kind dice.
I tried to limit the effect of ranged with my map choice: Hellspike. Despite
Champion 1, I think I won map 3 times.
Round 1 vs. Dwayne (Tried)
5x Kuo-Toa Whip, Astral Stalker, Delver Sergeant, Boneshard Skeleton, Darkmantle
I think I won map because we played on Hellspike.
Highlights:
I got too aggressive with 1 Exarch and he got lit up by the KTW. (I keep
hearing Stewie pronouncing ‘whips’ with an exaggerated ‘h’ in my head.) I tried
to close with cover, but the AS did his slow thing. Since I could get to the
Whips, the lines kept coming.
Result:
0-1, Confirmed my problems with ranged.
Round 2 vs. Darien
Mind Flayer Lich, Death Knight, Eternal Blade, pile o’ Farmer
I won map and we played on Hellspike.
Highlights:
Map helped minimized Deathmind, only 1 Cultist and the croc were confused. The Howling
Hag was a beast in this one. First, used Shriek of Agony to kill all but one
Farmer. Later on, used Baleful Whispers on the MFL, low chance of success but
had to try. Rolled a crit. That’s 40 plus the MFL is in a corner so it could
move further away. The Exarchs dodged a few Defender attacks from the EB. The Death
Knight was the last to go down.
Result:
1-1
Round 3 vs. I think his name was Taylor
Eternal Blade, 2x Shadowbane Inquisitor, Astral Stalker, Drider, Farmer
I won map and played on his map, Broken Demongate. Dumb, dumb, dumb. I figured
it had a central combat area, but I forgot about all the cover.
Highlights:
There really weren’t any. The AS just killed me with his hidden throat dart. As
a moral victory, I did kill his Farmer.
Result:
1-2
Round 4 vs. Van (Vanrulzz)
Eternal Blade, 2x Champion of Dol Dorn, Wild Mage, Iron Defender, 2x Merchant
Guard, Kobold Archer
I lost map and we played on his: Dragon Graveyard.
Highlights:
I expected this match-up. I tried to get to contact fast. Hoping to hit more
than get hit. Anyway, the dice gods were determined to settle this one
themselves. It became obvious when my Croc critted one of his Dol Dorns. Van
had the worst dice I’ve seen, they were very bad. I won, but Jfelt
like I should apologize.
Result:
2-2
Round 5 vs. I can’t recall his name, but I believe he was part of the VAN
DDM crew.
Large Gold Dragon, Mercenary General, Delver Sergeant, 6x Farmer
I won map, we played on Hellspike. We both used it so we rolled for setup.
Highlights:
Howling Hag took out all the Farmers in one scream. The Exarch and Crocodile
were able to base the LGD, with the Cultists in support. We played 3 rounds.
Result:
3-2
I had a blast, upped my record from last year by 1 win. Looking forward to
try and play more constructed to prepare for next year.

| and it's all downhill from here... Tried's kua-toa... New line rules the day before= I have to win map... I don't and he chooses kings road. I'm done. I get one shot at a delver double move to confuse his no longer able to hide Thanx to illuminator astral stalker... It was my first 4 of the night but would not be my last... I was just to slow after that... Probably the most painful game of my life as I knew it was near impossible after map and totally over after I lost my delver sergt... The new line rules are horrible... Argue all you want... They completely change the game... If they keep lg blacks at their current power level it's lights out on hellspike... Excellent name for them that I totally call if they become viable...
Back to round 3... On my map it would have been interesting... On his with new rules I was hopeless. Wotc's , if your listening... This may be worse than ranged bands on grotto... Make them have to at least see a target or the end square. It really just isn't fair.

| so after that sound thrashing and a lunch break I faced:
Dual EB ONI wildmage Merch guards x2 farmer
I finally won map and f'd up my setup. His Mage crit hit my mindflayer with the stun... I made the save but he won init and hit with the stun again!!! Bad bad news for me... My umberhulks death jumps and scarab swarm held him at bay... With 10 min left I had his merc guards dead (or dead on activation with poison), one EB stunned and taking poison at 40 hp... And one EB at 20 and confused. I didn't hear time called so I didn't play as conservative as I would have and lost my swarm on a stupid gambit and my delver sergt too. I was still thinking 1.0 swarm and reducing dmg to 5 not half... Ouch. Had I heard time I would have ran away withthe swarm and put my delver sergt on the VA guarded by a full hp umberhulk. I didn't and lost by 58pts after missing a confused extra att with my UHD on an EB... With my 5th 4 that game... The only game I really made mistakes and I could have won easily if I would have heard "time"... | | Rock Bottom Pricing: Arcane Archer 30, Centaur Hero 67, Human Cleric of Bane 25, Gold Champion 34, Death Knight 52, Goblin Blackblade 9, Silentwolf Goblin 7, Orc Raider 10, Dwarf axefighter 9, Healer 9, Thaskor 65, Aspect of Demogorgon 71, Ogre 9, Fire Giant 79, Human Wanderer 7, Drunken Master 18, Barghest 12, Longstider Barbarian 27, Longtooth Barbarian 22, Frost Giant 76, Ravenous Vampire 42, Large Earth Elemental: priceless

| my final match was:
Lg gold merc general delver minion farmers
On hellspike again...
This time he targettrd my rot scarab round one and killed it. Still it came down to an oppertunity att from his dragon vs my MF lich casting deathmind on the round before he wins on points... He missed... And I rolled my 6th 4 that match for the loss... On the bright side my deathjump poisoned his merc general round 2 and he failed it until he died... That was fun. My second deathjump killed 5 farmers and poisoned his delver until the boneshard blew up and killed him as all as poisoning his dragon for a round... That's a whole lot of outpilut for an 11pt piece...
IF i would have hit once in the first 3 rounds against his confused and staggered and flanked dragon or hit with the lichs melee rather than a cone I get the win... The maybe the closest game I've ever played... I'm ok with this loss... The dice favored him in the end. | | Rock Bottom Pricing: Arcane Archer 30, Centaur Hero 67, Human Cleric of Bane 25, Gold Champion 34, Death Knight 52, Goblin Blackblade 9, Silentwolf Goblin 7, Orc Raider 10, Dwarf axefighter 9, Healer 9, Thaskor 65, Aspect of Demogorgon 71, Ogre 9, Fire Giant 79, Human Wanderer 7, Drunken Master 18, Barghest 12, Longstider Barbarian 27, Longtooth Barbarian 22, Frost Giant 76, Ravenous Vampire 42, Large Earth Elemental: priceless

| My warbands performance overall:
MFL: wow... Still one of the best pieces out there.
UH delver: one yes!!! 2 =2 slow!.. But when flanking a stunned and confused opponent they are worth tier weight in gold.
Delver sergt: unsure... The ability to steal a champfx or to act 3 times is big... Illuminator can pay off too.
Rot swarm: nothing else captures your opponents attention so well. I would like 2 in this band but don't know what to lose.
Deathjumps: 30-100 dmg a match from 2 11pt pieces is huge. Best buy at 11...
Boneshard: solid but would get booted for activations if cheaper options were availible. Great for now.
