Please note that this report was also posted on Hordelings as several of the people at the Qualifier mentioned they posted there. Usernames mentioned in this report are their handles on Hordelings. I do not know if they post here or if they have the same handles on here.

The tournament was in Dickson, TN (for some reason was listed as TX here :P) at the Blackthorne Gaming Center.

8 people attended. 2 from GA, 3 from KY, and 3 of us (semi) locals :P

First round for me was against Brig (based on the first post). I was running:

Cleric of Pelor
Champion of Dol Dorn x2
Halfling Paladin
Elf Conjurer
Merchant Guard x2
Elf Archer x3

Round played on Dwarven Outpost.

Brig's warband was Dual Shadow Dragons and a Digester with a horde of Darkmantles (it is likely listed elsewhere or shall be soon. He was taking notes of all warbands). I tried to keep my pieces from bunching up due to the three cone attacks, but ended up getting somewhat bogged down with the Darkmantles. He jumps in and breaths twice over most of the warband, enervating many of them. This ended up being something we both forget until like three rounds later. I managed to get one of the Dragons and he jumped the other one over to take out the Conjurer. Then as occasionally happens to me, Conceal became my bane :P I missed several Conceal rolls in a row (even at just a 6), though I did pick up a couple earlier on. Ended up at 187-146 according to my notes.

Second round was against Matt (one of the other locals). He had been out of the game for quite some time, but decided to get back into it for the Qualifier. His warband:

Champion of Dol Dorn
Dwarf Warlord x2
Guard of Mithril Hall
Goblin Picador x2
Iron Defender

Round played on Dwarven Outpost

I managed to some extent to use the Conjurer for some good ranged threat (though not sure that it hit much). That caused him to come to me more and we had a big melee mix up in the water of the central victory area. Using the Dol Dorn defender ability and Feat of Strength helped take out his Dol Dorn and double team the Warlords in some ways. I picked up this round with a decent margin, though with his powerful melee threat, it could have gone either way.

Third round was against Kenwig (not sure if he has a handle here). His warband:

Large Gold Dragon
Halfling Paladin
Merchant Guard x4
Farmer x2

Round played on Dwarven Outpost

I got a somewhat lucky opening in the first round as I used the Conjurer to snipe off a Guard with the Fire Bolt. The second round we both packed into the various victory areas as he had activated the Gold Dragon champion ability. The point gain ended up even between us, though this also opened me up to the Gold Dragon breath. He then jumped the Dragon over the central area and took out the Cleric. After this the water proved to be a real hindrance as I couldn't shift my troops around and also the remaining three Guards absorbed all the remaining Feats of Strength attacks on the Gold Dragon (killing the Guards off at least). I continued to attempt to whittle the monster down as he smacked the Dol Dorns around. The Conjurer even managed to fly around and set up a flank and hit the Dragon with his staff (seeing as how it was virtually immune to the fire damage I could do). However, the Dragon stood tall amidst the carnage (60 hp remaining) at the end with a score of 216 to 90.

Fourth round was against NinjaPimp on the Dwarven Outpost (yes, I was winning map initiative a lot).

His warband:

Champion of Dol Dorn x3
Dwarven Battlemaster
Shrieking Harpy
Delver Sergent
Farmer x2

He began to close due to the ranged threat of the Conjurer (the Elves though ranged had not been a threat most all day). I did manage to Unicorn Arrow the Harpy at one point with it. He closed with the group, lining up his Dol Dorns three abreast at the central victory area. I pushed one off the end and isolated him, finishing him off quickly. He then Lured one of my Dol Dorns around across his remaining two Dol Dorns. One missed, but the other got the hit. I then for some reason thought I needed to attack the Harpy... drawing two Defender strikes (with Feat of Strength on one) which totally annihilated my Dol Dorn. He then pushed on to threaten (and shortly after kill) the Cleric. He also manuevered to Lure the Conjurer right in between the Dol Dorns. I refrained from the attack that time :P I did manage to finally kill a second Dol Dorn, but it was too late by then and final score was 177-128 in his favor.

I ended up 1-3 for the Swiss rounds though at least each match I was competitive and didn't just get swept under the rug.

At end of Swiss:
Brig
Jerry Damage
Kris
Kenwig
Visage
NinjaPimp
Arymetore
Matt

Kenwig dropped to allow Visage into the final four.

Final four were:
Brig (Dual Shadow Dragon, Digester, about 5-6 Darkmantles)
Jerry Damage (dual mindflayer liches, Shadow Dragon, darkmantles)
Kris (Oni, Astral Stalker, Eternal Blade, Wild Mage are all I can remember from his
warband)
Visage (Eternal Blade, Frost Giant Jarl, Wild Mage)
