| In order to try and keep the hype up untill the big day, I thought maybe we could get a more accurate/official head count of who is planning to attend. So I'll start it off and keep updating the list as people respond.
Definite
Gerald (Spikegif) Derek (Corim Danex) Devin (Drakkengi) Wyn Britton
Unsure but wanting
Brandon Toxic Rat Caustic Mouse Chattan w/son & friends Todd Pilias Simbar Mook Zenthrus
There are several others that I'm pretty sure are planning to make it but I'll let them chime in to confirm.

Welcome zenthrus,
This event will be using the current rules as they are going out the door. Tiles and 12 activations. This is the last event to be held that will be using the tiles and 12 activiations.
Hope to see you there.
Also we do have events held every Thursday at the Blackrose 7-9 pm and every other Saturday at the Game Den (soon to be changed to Hasturs) Next event is 2/11/06 at 12:00pm. Come and practice before the Utah Open. | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148-

| Thanks for the warm welcome. I've been around gaming in Utah for about 20 years or so. I don't get out to the gaming stores. The only one close to my house is Game Night Games and while it's nice to find people willing to play Axis and Allies (not the minis) they're not a good place for DDM/D&D/AAM/etc. I recently got into skirmish based on the fact that I use minis for D&D and decided I ought to consider the 'other' aspect. I've been following metagame/warband online discussions for about a year and have played the odd game on VASSAL. My time is exceptionally limited this semester, however, (25 credit hours) and I have classes on Thursday nights so casually stopping by to play is not often an option. Saturdays are very hit or miss as well since I play with one of the local symphonies and Saturdays are concert nights. Well that's it about me. I'll try and show for the Utah Open. If I can't make that I'm definitely planning for the Wardrums Release at Game Den. | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. Where's my pie? Warm now, yes. Drakkengi's Dark Flames band may make you think twice about it being warm though. [)]

Both should be fun. Out of curiousity, what faction do you like to run? Just trying to figure out what might show up at the Open. [:D] | | Any time you try to make something idiot-proof, someone always goes out and invents a better idiot. Champion of Siege Equipment

Hey Raton,(hope you don't mind me calling you that, I just like the sound of it)you'll have to come to Game Den on the 11th so you can destroy my new band and crush any thoughts of bringing it to the Open. [B)] At least that would make the decision easier. [:p]

| I'm most familiar with either a Couatl/Marut (or Iron Golem) band or a variant Dark Flames band. I'd actually like to play my LG band against Dark Flames since it almost always has favorable matchups. I've also played around with FB/AoK/Inspiring Marshal bands, Greenfang Druid bands, and 3xOrc Champ beater bands. Currently I'm working on a CE band that I'm dubbing "Titanic." It'll either be impressive or sink just like it's namesake.
It's looking grim for the Open, unfortunately. I have a mass of papers due right around that time frame (plus a major concert the weekend prior). I'm still hopeful for the War Drums release.

| I actually stopped by yesterday and it seems they are doing a halfway job. They had a small pile of fliers on the desk by the cash register but it was covered by some other ad or promotion. So I moved the other thing to the side and let our flier be seen, also propped one up against a corner so it might catch more attention. Oh and they had two of the fliers taped so they are hanging down from the shelves that they keep their minis on. So it's looking okay....
I really like what Blackrose does. They have a ad taped onto the bottom of every booster in the store to promote thursday night DDM. I think that's a great idea.

I like the blackrose also, but for some reason (well I know some of the reasons) some people in the gamming community have a problem with the owners.
As I told someone last week, with all the stereo typing our community gets I do not know what the store owners have to fighter with each other about things that do not matter. | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148-

I know what you mean. There are two gaming stores in this town. One goes of its ways to accomodate any game, and will willingly schedule game room time (there are only a few repeat times a week, so this is pretty easy).
The other? Total let down. They even charge $15 per Saturday session of Warhammer. All they do is play on tables and use cheap terrain. The owner can be surly and I've heard of times when she ordered products the people really didn't want unless "it happened to be there" (non-critical purchases).

| | Depending on how the Utah Open will go, we will decide on where we will be playing next. We have problems with players not showing up to events and support from the store. The owner of the Game Den wants to keep us there and asked me what he needed to do to keep us there. I do not know what it will take to get players comming back to the Game Den, put please let me know what you need (other then more time in your life). I know support has been the problem, but that support has been run by the second owner who give his attention to his southern store, so they me be able to improve the support that they are currently giving. | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148- | |

| | Had a blast. I'm somewhat surprised that I went 2-1 (only lost by 2 points, too--Stupid Duergar and their Stupid conceal and my inability to roll higher than a 5 against it). I have a greater appreciation for both Xorns and the Mounted Paladin in skirmish. Both showed great promise. | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. Where's my pie? On a more serious note the Xorn did surprisingly well. I think it's an overlooked piece.

the event is now listed on the wizards site (DCI event locator).
