From the website it looked pretty expensive, but if events are 6ish each anyway, then that's definitely reasonable.

When do Gencon event tickets start going on sale? I don't want a repeat of the Vintage tournament where we were fighting to get seats (fortunately, we managed to grab one, although our rares weren't particularly good.)

The most important thing you can do now, if you've decided to go, is to buy a badge and try to secure your accomodations. Rooms sell out fast with 25,000 gamers showing up at one time! All of the "attached" hotels are sold out, so your looking at a walk, or getting a Hotel much further out, and renting a car.
Tickets for events go on sale on May 1st. To date, no DDM event has ever sold out, but PLENTY of other events at GenCon (Like "True Dungeon") do. Sean and I will try to accomdate as many people as possible so that there is no sell out for the MaxMini's event.

Also make sure you have it sent to yuo. The will call lines at Gen Con are huge and you don't want to spend an hour or two waiting in that. | |

| I've added everyone who has mentioned an interest in attending. I also extended the invite to the WotC guys and I know they have to look at their con schedules and that mihgt not be set in stone for a while.
We are at 46 players with is already higher then last year! I think that this is one of the reasons this communitee is so great, and what helps to make the game so great. It is not just about the compitition, but also about the fun! We get a huge number of players together for an event that is not sanctioned or from huge prizes, but to play and have a great time.
For me I look forward to this event for several reasons:
1. To have a face/voice to go with all the usernames and text I read on a daily level.
2. To participate in a draft, which is the format I really enjoy for a fun game.
3. To have a chance to play minis with people that I only get to see once or twice a year.
4. To hang out with National Champs, WotC employees, and friends that I've made here at Maxmins (which in some cases covers more then one of these areas at the same time).
5. As the organizer, to see so many people having fun and playing a great game. This one is great as I know Shoe and Ian enjoyed seeing everyone having a good time and playing the game they enjoy as well.
6. Beating Jesses Decker... Just kidding Jesse! It is fantastic to have you guys join in as it really shows the support to the game that the players can play the creators.
I'm really excited to see this many people already signed up for this event. I'd love to see it sell out and show that the game is just as strong, if not stronger then ever before. This is a great communitee with a lot to offer to players both Skirmish and RPG.

| I think we now know the date for our event.
Mike Donais has posted in another thread that his understanding is that this year the Grinder will be on Thursday, with the Championship on FRIDAY. I suspect that the top 8 will still be Saturday morning.
Dreamblade will run on Saturday, but Ian told me at WF that he thought Saturday night would be ok. 500 players? Hmmm I'm guessing that a dreamblade game must last 30 minutes if Ian was right.
In any event, I know that we'll have low turn out if we are tyring to play till midnight the day of the Grinder, and right before the Championship.
Sounds like Saturday night!

Sean has in the past indicated what Booster people plan to play with, and prizes, though keep in mind that people shouldn't feel pressure to seelct these things now!
