The solution is obvious, if your son plays a tournament everyday between now and Gencon and scores at least 3 points in each one, he will qualify for Nationals.

That trick only works in Tampa, ALL DAY!

Since witch hunts were mentioned, I feel the need to mention the following items:

A male witch is called a Warlock.
From the pronouns used, I conclude that Dapuma is male, so is he in fact a Warlock?

The D&D Minis Warlock is Chaotic. Chaotic beings do not follow the rules.
Many people have claimed that Dapuma did not follow the rules. Therefore he is Chaotic, just like the D&D minis Warlock.

Complete Arcane says that the majority of Warlocks are evil.
Dapuma beat Vrecknidj's son, therefore he is evil like the majority of Warlocks.

What does Dapuma stand for?
It could be Demonic Ancestored Person Using Magic Abilities, the very definition of a Warlock if I ever heard one.

The Warlock has Invocation called "Sickening Blast".
Did someone say the original (presumably better) judge couldn't make it because of illness? Clearly the work of a Warlock, which must have been Dapuma.

Warlocks also have an invocation called "Beguiling Influence". And another called "Charm".
Clearly Dapuma used these to cause the judge to rule in his favor.

From this prepronderance of evidence, we can only conclude that Dapuma is in fact a Warlock.

So what, you ask? What is so bad if an evil Warlock goes to Gen Con in place of Vrecknidj's son?

3 words...
"Word of Changing" This invocation can turn someone into a frog or other helpless animal... EVERY SIX SECONDS! HE IS GOING TO TURN EVERYONE AT GENCON INTO FROGS!

You may think that this will be just another oppurtunity to get kissed by a Princess, but in fact you will probably be trampled by the Indianapolis Colts before you ever find the Princess, who is probably watching from her skybox the annual "I can't believe they have a game on Saturday, much less the same week as Gen Con in the same building" Game.

Therefore let the burning at the stake begin.

Sorry, Vreck, just this one last bit from me, and then I'm out.

I disagree with this, Felagund. Assuming he's innocent, I think most of us would respond similarly to a thread as antagonistic as this one. It's hard to avoid being defensive and angry in a thread that, well, makes you very angry.

He didn't go into details, with reason, but with respect to Vrecknidj, we have no way of knowing whether or not these rulings cost Alex the game. To put it another way, had the rulings been made correctly in the first place, that wouldn't have guaranteed Dapuma was going to lose.

Good point that he may have won anyway. That's my bad.

If I were wrongly accused of cheating, I certainly don't think I would respond this way. I would definitely be defensive and angry, I'm sure. I think defensive and angry are okay, though. Making personal attacks is not okay (and is against the posting guidelines). As I said above, I think these actions have a more negative effect on Dapuma's reputation than anything that Vrecknidj accused him of. He has no control over what others say about him, and I understand that. But he is in control over what he says for himself. As frustrating as I'm sure this thread is for him, it does not justify disregard for the rules of this forum and basic respect for other community members, IMO.

I would be very interested in hearing an-insult free explanation of the event from Dapuma's point of view, as sienar much more eloquently requested above.

I feel I should also point out, that I had a judge that had been playing since Harbinger make an incorrect ruling against me at a tournament. And there were also other players nearby who were quite experienced who didn't back me up. So having experienced judges and players nearby doesn't cure everything. We actually got a response from guyf midtournament, too late for my game unfortunately. (I later discovered that the very subject was covered in the glossary section of the rulebook.)

Dakota, I recieved a phone call after the 4th or 5th round where a player you faced told me he had to keep correcting you over and over from making illegal moves. So far I have heard from at least 3 players who faced you who are all saying variations same thing. And if you are the same player that was at Ypsilanti, I know of 2 other situations you were involved in. I would like you to contact me directly so I can hear your side of how events occurred. you can contact me via email at bshugg at hotmail or brad (dot) shugg (at) mpiresearch. I would like to sort out what happened and clear up hard feelings that have occured in the Michigan area players.

Looking for someone to cosponser a midwest DDM event. let me know if your interested!
