I'm not familiar with A & A. Are any of the booster sets out of print yet? or are they still available from wholesalers/retailers?

If WoTC follows the same protocol that they do with DDM they will retire the base set when they come out with another starter, about every 5th set. For example, we have the Base set, Set II the soon to be released Contested Skies and set 4 D-Day, the next set should have a starter and they would then retire the base set, if they do the same as with DDM.

I remember hearing that there would be no new starter set, that's why Wotc has released new maps online. Well, Base set is called Base set [:P] and it does have pretty iconic stuff.

They may not retire the base set, I don't know, but from all the stuff that I have read about the mini-making process, they print all of a set they are going to print in one run. In the case of SWM Rebel Storm they reprinted it a couple of times, so I guess they could do the same with AAM.
