This may be old news to you, but in case it isn't:

I got my Delegate copy of Rocketville today, and it included an AH catalog. The catalog mentions the release of a Naval Miniatures game (with the A&A brand name, if I recall). The miniatures would be collectible, and should come out in the summer or fall.

The Catalog is way over in the Game room, and I'm too laxy to fetch it at this hour. Some of you probably got it today without realizing it. If no-one posts the details by tomorrow afternoon, I will get the catalog and do it.

First Star Wars ship battle game and then this... Oh dear. I'm never going to read anything from the web anymore! Too much interesting games!

Thanks for the info, Pat!

Sweet, but I can't afford to be in another CMG. I just can't. No way I'm dumping DDM (they are the best one of the 4 I play).

They just don't know what's good in life...Conan, tell them what is good in life.

GAH!

I LOVE Naval stuff. Anyone ever play Harpoon? Man that freaken game took FOREVER to play, but was damned accurate and a blast.

Taking out missles and jets should let this play MUCH faster.

Ian Richards had mentioned a GenCon Premier for a game, but it was pretty clear it wasn't going to be the Star Wars Space game, this must be it... I CAN'T WAIT!

No, but I did play alot of "clear for action" (WWII Naval rules) 20 yrs ago. It was fun.

I read the little one page discription earlier.

This sounds awesome. 64 minis with 11 to a starter. Not bad at all!

I'm looking forward to this, and Pat, I bet this is what Ian was refereing to as the rpeiere at Gen Con.

Who made it? Was it Avalon Hill, or someone else? Straight Naval is SO much fun... time of play is the only issue if they stick with realistic movement rates.

This of course also opens the door for WotC to compete head to head with WizKids and do up a 1800's naval game as well.

I don't know. I was in High School and all the old Grizzled vets played it twice a month on Saturdays.
I'll check up on it tomorrow and see if I can find out who made it.

Heh... Guess I was wrong about that. Looks like the big premier will be the Dreamblade game.

So many mini's games, so little time...

Well I checked w/ the LGS I used to play it at. The owner did not remember who made the game. He said it has been out of print for over 20yrs. Sorry.
If I ever do find out, I'll PM you.

So will they have scenarios like AAM? Will we see a Pearl Harbor one?

I would be willing to bet that the planes will be able to be used in both games. It only makes sense to seperate the land & sea battles, but to let the aircraft cross over between the two.

Life is like a dogsled team, unless you are the lead dog, the view never changes.

Yea, we'll see planes one way or another.

The add in the AH catalog shows a plane straffing a battleship...

The only "realistic" WW-II naval games I have seen that were interesting to play. Were either (1) grand strategic {Victory at sea/Solomons campaign} or (2) night action with small craft {MTB, MGB's}
I think an aam-at-sea game would need to be seriously unrealistic to be amusing. Something like the old Naval-war card game...

I'm going to be the scale is different. I would think that the planes will be more on scale with the infantry bases and the ships on scale with the tanks. An aircraft carriers will still be huge at that scale.
