I don't have any Axis and Allies minis, but I am thinking about getting into them. I have looked at the galleries, and I like what I see. I saw a few cavalry minis, and I was wondering: Does anybody use the cavalry when they play? Is the cavalry worth using?

They are interesting units, but I only have one Cossack cavalry -unit... and haven't even had chance to play it (played only 1 game with russians so far). I still wish I had a few more.

In general , you could buy better units than the calvary. If you really have a desire to use them then make sure the scenario is set up so they are not cannon fodder. (example you would not want to use them in later years 1944/1945.

I have had great success using them in flank manuevers to take out anti tank guns.  I use allies so its the polish infantry I use.  Most player do not see the purpose of them so they go unnoticed while they shoot at other what they think is more lethal targets.
