I feel that people often overlook World War One generally, so I think that a WW1 minis series or expansion would be a good idea. A WW1 expansion might generate new interest for AA minis, even though it wouldn't technically be Axis and Allies; it would be...the Allies and the Central Powers (i think).

Anyways, please post any thoughts or feelings you have on this idea.

Thanks for any feedback.

I would like WWI minis, but i guess they don´t fit the A&A because they have only the WWII.

There are several miniature games (where you need to assemble and paint) about WWI, The A&A format could fit excellent with this era, hope someday when they don´t have more WWII they took the game to the first.

WWII carried on many things from the first war, tanks, vehicles, weapons, airplanes and other stuff to its initial stages.

For example, German infantry used the mauser rifles, potato masher hand grenades and lugers.

British, French, Russians, Italians and other armies did too. What imo changed things were the blitzkrieg mobile tactics the German army used at the beginning of the war, which ended the trench and huge fortified structures strategies.

Still I would not mind seeing some WWI stuff.

Maybe the good point would be the Planes! just imagine the Red Baron over the sky?
Some trench would be really nice giving cover to the minis!

Foundry makes a great line of WWI minis. The real problem is finding rules for WWI games. Iron Ivan makes rules for obscure wars, maybe Warhammer historical has them, but I haven't found any yet.

Nope neither company has an offering and neither does Microarmour. It was surprising that Iron Ivan offers rules for The French and Indian War but not WWI. I'm sure there is something available though.

No thanks, I find enough interesting games already :o) But, it might be cool. I've never been too much into 1st world war, but planes and zeppelins would be cool They might need another scale, though, maybe even less realistic take on the conflict. Or, then it could be straight turned into steampunk, which I would love... Sorry, getting pretty far :o)
