| | I've been looking into ways to create battlemats myself. I've gone to different fabric stores and vinyl goes fairly cheap(about $7 for a yard) and I've been talking to various sign and bannermaking stores about printing on vinyl. It looks like I'll be able to download battlemats and just hand the sign places the disk and they can print it right onto the vinyl. Now I just have to figure out how much it's gonna cost. If anyone has their own battlemat creations on file and would like to share them, I would really appreciate it. | | | |

| If they do print for you please find out if they ship and all that :) I would love to order one over the phone and have it shipped.
I play on a table, just use a sheet of glass from our coffee table to keep things flat and write-on-able.
Good tip tho on how to make BMs I may have to sometime soon :)

| | I'll find out if they do ship. But I was thinking about just keeping pictures of all the different mats I've created on here(assuming I can get it done) and then people can just pick what one they want and we could work out a way to send it out to them. Also, I went to a Kinko's/Fed Ex and it sounded like they would be able to print them out also. So it shouldn't be too hard to set it up at your local Kinko's. | | | |

| What I used for my battle map/mats is take the original maps included in the starter sets. Take that to Kinko's and have it laminated for around $10. Dry erase markers draw on and wipe off directly from the surface. The folds are gone and you can even roll them up a bit (makes a big tube but still could be put in a closet or something.) I even laminated my tiles as well. It will stick to surface of the map pretty good if you get the bottom of the tile wet with just a tiny bit of moisture. (for example condensation from a coke can, just a tiny drop or two of water) This map thing wold also work for custom maps. Just take you disk to Kinkos and have them use their large printer to print out your map in 1'x1' squares and then laminate it. -Hope this helps some people out. It works great for us.

| | I've found that at Kinko's/Fed Ex they can print a full color battlemat with pretty much any kind of design on canvas for about $35. Now I just need to find some more battlemat designs. | | | |

The new gencon map was placed out there, that would be a good one to have done up. | | First peon to make it to "Knight Warlord" Completed Trades -148-

| | I am thinking I might make one of those new Fane of the Drow maps out of vinyl. The trouble is, it will be much more complicated from a color standpoint than the regular battle map I made last week. | | "Look to God and live." | | Very nice, md3, how did you make the 3D Fane of the Drow map? What did you use for walls, etc.? | | "Look to God and live." | | From what I can tell the Walls are just Foam Core. the torches and doors are Dwarven Forge? and the minis and other furniture is from the HeroQuest Board game. | | Champion of the Alhoon and my called shot for Unhallowed Blood War Called Shot: Phoenix Trade withe me! | |

| | Hero's Quest was inspiring for me. That game was my nexus to D&D and other miniatures games. It also allowed me to be able to play Warhammer before I was old enough to have a job and spend ridiculous amounts of money on the real pieces. Gotta love the Dwarf! | | | |

| | My brother-in-law picked up a copy of Hero Quest (missing rules) for 50 cents at a thrift store several years ago. We couldn't figure out how to play it, but used the minis for RPG before I got into DDM. | | "Look to God and live."
