Really nice, Darkfather! I like especially the mine entrace. Is the back wall of the skirmish -piece finished as a stone/earth wall too? It can't be seen from the photos. Still, I can imagine that it can be well used as an entrance tile in outdoor scenarios, and the be turned around to be used for indoor scenarios. Very good!

About orc fortress - the red gate is a little too red IMHO. Maybe it's just me, maybe it's meant to be like that, but I wouldn't have made it that red. Or is it some orc -specific thing in WH? In general, colours fade away a little when looked from afar, therefore they should be just a little less bright in models to look realistic. Just my 5 cents [:)]

Awesome work as usual Darkfather.

I only have two comments:
1.The pyramid is awesome but the leafs/trees are a bit too big; these type pyramids only had moss covering them and some grass at the base but never trees growing out of them, unless they are pots of course. I think it take away from the feel of it.
2.The Orc fortress looks excellent but as said before the color red makes it look like a mexican restaurant.

I, of course have zero knowledge of warhammer so perhaps you are dead on and I am way off.

Know I'll return to envying your skill [:D]

Love the Ziggarut but agree you should take out the leafy plants. The moss looks cool enough.

Heya Guys;

Thanks for the feedback.

Orc Fortress - I had a good laugh about the 'brightness of the red' comments. That Orc Fortress is nearly 6 yrs old. I guess keeping my scenery in a cupboard is a good idea (no paint fading). But yes, you are all right. The colour is a bit 'garish'. If I was to repaint that piece, it would definitely be done a darker shade of red.

Lizardmen Ziggurat - I agree totally. I don't like the plants either. That's what I get for trying to immitate the one on the GW webpages. I am planing on making an entire table based around part of a ruined Lizardmen city area, so this was my first attempt at making a Ziggurat. I think I will donate this one to my FLGS and make a new one (or 2 or 3 of differing sizes).

Darkfather that stuff looks terrific. What are they made from?

You know, I keep thinking that after the new design team gets done with D&D 4e, D&D won't stand for Dungeons and Dragons anymore, because well, that's just not fun. It's old and stuffy. - Originally Posted by BabWryter on Kenzerco.com

Very cool. I LOVE the mine entrance.

Coming from the American Southwest, the orc mud hut didn't strike me as well because it's a perfect replica of an indian pueblo - so I didn't see "orc" when I saw it, I saw "zuni indian." That's got nothing to do with the quality of the model, of course, it's because of where I'm from.

For orc stuff, I like the look of the Warcraft orc architecture, with roughly hewn wooden flanges and leather strips hanging from it. I have been trying to figure out how to replicate that in a model for a long time, and haven't been able to.

Very nice work, DF. I think it would be very interesting having a battle on the pyramid. Have a trap set up with lots of archers shooting around the corners on the upper levels.

Thanks again for the feedback guys.

nyjastul69 - The Mine, The Orc House and Fortress, The Rocks on the forested bases, are all made from packing foam (from around a Television/Fridge etc). The Zigurrat is made from a rubber based foam (not sure of the name).
