I picked up from my FLGS the pack horses, pack mules, pack camels, Dragon's Hoard and the bookcases. I thought about getting the Astronomical stuff and the witches brew set as well. But there was only so much in the budget....

This stuff used to be made by Hooby Products (out of Germany) called Metal Magic, but that was a while ago. I heard thae the molds had got sold and the new company was going to start casting. They have some pretty sweet props IIRC...

I would say they are a 25-28 and will work really well with DDM/Reaper. The trap doors are a little tight to scale. Meaning that in the grand sense of an inch is five foot, the trap door would be a tight squeeze. Making sense for traps going off and only getting the rogue.[)]

I cleaned the flash and the mold marks off of the stuff that I had bought and the castings aren't bad IMHO. Tonight I am going to mount them to washers to make them consistant to the DDM stuff. I am pumped about getting them into the paint pipeline!!! Just have to get the ten elves and the evil high priest ( I am using him as a lich [}:)])

The one concern that I would say is that on some of the pack mules the tail is a little thin (at least on a couple that I had) and the tail busted. Nothin bad or something that couldn't be fixed witha little spot of super glue. Just wanted to throw the heads up out there..[:D]

I would ask the FLGS to order it for you, it might save on the cost of shipping and it might turn more people on to it and expand the product line....

I know when I went into the store and made a beeline to the section the owner's eye almost burst. This is because I pulled the entire range of what he had off the shelf and he thought that I was going to buy it all. I told him that it was so I could better make the choice of what to get in the first sweep. [:D]

I am going to be stocking up on the bookcases as I think those are the coolest bits! Along with a couple more camels. For some reason PCs get really weirded out by the simple placement of a pack camel in with a bunch of horses in a wooded area. [)] I wish that I really would havbe had these figs when I ran that encounter!!

This stuff is great!!

My FLGS gave me a plastic baggy of some of these years ago. Painted some but not all.

New models coming out later this year look like must haves - FARM ANIMALS! You know you want them. If you've ever needed scared sheep, they are coming.

Yeah, the old line (metal magic) was awesome and had TONS of stuff that is useful for RPG!! I am glad to see that another company sees the use as well...[:D]

For an unusual source, the Barbie (yes BARBIE DOLLS) line of Fairytopia products has many to-scale items (expect to do a lot of painting- unless you like purple and pink). Elves might live in giant flowers instead of giant trees...

I bought the cottage and got excellent results- it even opens up to carry the skirmish indoors.

I also snagged the plastic mountian facades from discounted plastic animal sets- some paint and glue later and I had a great multi-ledged cliff-face (I later added a working waterfall off the top ledge. Use the trees from these too!

For modern ideas- take a closer look at Polly Pocket micro sets- the scale is close enough to get some interesting set pieces.

Need Statues? Try Pokemon, and Duelmasters figures. Some of the simpler sculpts can be used right out of the package.

Also, look over the Beads and Charms at your local craft store- I've found to-scale pets and familiars and shrooms, cacti...

Mage Knight had some dungeon stuff that should be pretty cheap right now. It included some pre-painted chairs and tables for your dungeons. It also had some cool artifacts and terrain features like statues and pools of water.

Of them all the Townsfolk collection might be the most useful for stocking encounters. IT is so hard to find "normal" people figs to stock scenes with. Not EVERYONE has a martial weapon at the ready in every bar!!!

Another source is looking at HO Gauge Model railroad props. The scale is pretty close and can work out fine. That is where most of my normal animals came from.

For some demons, elementals or other monsters, the Yu-Giyo and Pokemon small minis have a few good sculpts to pick from (as well as a bunch of totally silly ones as well...)

Built the addition for this addiction, now on to the "gaming table" project....
