| LOL! Not so much the event, but the reporting of said event. "Public service announcements, by Darkfather..."
This just reminds me so much of my carpenter friend who was helping to build my garage this summer, who's air-nailer misfired and shot a 3-inch nail through 3 of his fingers. He's completely recovered, but I don't think we used the nailer again.

| Also - wear saftey shoes when using your pin (or power!) drill - don't count on your metatarsals from stopping a drill bit!

In this case.... definitely! Luckily I didn't hit any tendons or muscles. The Stanley blade was only out of the sheath a little way, hence the shallowness of the cut depth. I didn't stop me from finishing the mini prepertions though. As soon as I got out of emergency, I went straight back to work and finished the job. (Albeit, this time with my Exacto knife)

| I am happy you are "mostly" alright; the wound will heal, your pride, perhaps will take a bit longer.
I am one of those special idiots who has cut open every finger tip on both hands during a young and very inexperience period of my life while working at a supermarket; you'd think by number 4 they would've taken the blade-cutter away from me [B)]
The upside to that is that I have very distinctive and kinda cool looking fingerprints (never got stitches for any of them so the lines without fingerprints is quite noticeable). | | Trades >> Completed: 49 | Bad: Ø | Pending: 0 | Trade & talk Live on IRC! Cool bit about the fingertips. | | Pathetic Earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void - without the slightest inkling of who or what is out here. If you had known anything about the true nature of the universe - anything at all - you would have hidden from it in terror.

| Glad to hear you are ok.
It's amazing how you think I've been doing this forever, it won't mater if I skip this little safety percaution and then the next thing you know you are in the ER. | | Quis custodiet ipsos custodes--Who will gaurd the guards? Champion of the Commoner Mob Leader

| I sliced my left index figure while cutting off resin tabs of the recent Earth Elemental. Thought that I would need stitches for a second, but ended up okay. Funny thing was due to several ink washes a day or so later, my fingernail had a line on it that just happened to line up with the cut, so a friend thought that I had bisected my finger halfway down the nail...
This finger has had a lot of abuse; I also cut it with clippers one day growing up. Now my new scar is over the old one... | | Champion of the common Flying Monkey (Fez optional) Peter Lee on the WotC board BAD WOLF

| That's funny (not Ha Ha funny, but coinsidental funny) About 5 years ago I was shaving some slag off of a model using that exact same technique using a box cutter...Well, my right leg hasn't been the same after a slightly upward angled 4" slice, 16 stitches and a ruined pair of jeans. Taught me a lesson I'll never forget. [B)] | | 183 Completed trades with the best people on the net! | |
