| well, depends how old are you and how long have you been drawing before I can give you an amateur rating.
They are not bad. You want to pay attention to the dimensions and musculature. Also, when you scan the pics try raising the contrast a bit, makes them blacker [:D]

| This is the short and sweet version of how I came to drawing these pictures.
I needed to draw an animal for an art project. I asked my art teahcer and he ok'd the picture of the Displacer Beast (Which I will be showing in a later Kick @ss Concept Art post)
I am sorry to say though that the original pencil picture of the D-Beast is gone for good. (I fogot to pick it up from my art teacher and it's been quite a while. I think it's gone. Oh well)
Anyways, I later thought that was kind of fun and while camping I was bored and picked up a pencil and BANG!
I haven't drawn much since school started but I hope to at least one more during Christmas break. | |

| I'm sorry to say that my imagination isn't the best and when I try to draw something from my imagination, it seems to have less detail.
These pictures are from the back of stat cards (The sets before Abberations have pictures that are easier to see and draw)
And I significantly doubt I'll be drawing a liger. | |

Best way to practice is to photocopy the image; then enlarge it and then trace it. The more you trace the more practice you get in and the better idea you'll get on dimensions and anamoty (yes even fantasy creatures must have some sort of coherent and functional anatomy).
Tracing is only cheating if you call it your own; tracing is a great way to get your hand used to...just make sure you pick good artists, like Des and not Baxa or 90% of the comic book guys; their perspectives and balances are way off. | |
