| ok, so i made a shreiker and Ice paraelemental this weekend. next job is to cast the ice paraelemental and paint up the shreiker. I'm not casting the latter for reasons that will become obvious when i post pics (hopefully tonight).
The ice guy turned out ok, but not perfect, this may be 1.0 out of a few tried, but we'll see. I went for the more ice shard composite type (see pic two above)than a single crystal or spikey (see pic one). I started by making a sheet of sculpy, then fired it. I then cut that sheet into strips and shards. I made a rough sculpt of the body then applied the shards to the frame, giving it the big-pile-of-ice feeling. it feels like something i've seen before, but not quite like either an elemental or a golem, i really have to get pics up.
I'm having fun with this. give me some more ideas! | |

| | Heh, if you're really bored and want ideas try making clear plastic Fire/Ice Templates, make them about 1/16th-1/8th of an inch in width and carve the fire/ice designs into them. | |

you mean like the cone of cold/breath weapon type template? they'd be a little brittle i'm thinking, but they'd look cool. | |

| | So glumag, I've been thinking about the Mimic. Although the iconic Mimic encounter contains a big treasure chest biting your head off, I think that the real power of the monster has been overlooked. Much like Leonard Nimoy, the Mimic has unfortunately been forced to replay the same tired role over and over again. "look, its a treasure chest/barrel/sarcophagus... aaah, i'm dead." The real power of the mimic is that it can assume many forms: chests, barrels, sarchpogus, doorway, well, mirror (see wotc return to undermountain), pile o rocks, a mural or mosaic on a wall, a large rug, anything big and hard. its in combat strength lies in its plasticity and adhesiveness. It is essentially a large Ooze with like a hundred ranks in Disguise. In combat its an Ooze with the special ability Adhesive, not much more. I wouldn't use a chest or barrel as the mini unless I plan on using a mini for every barrel and chest in the entire game. same reason i don't use minis for statues UNTIL they animate and start romping ass. | |

This brain was my second try, the jar my first. I'm trying out an epoxy polymer clay made with steel instead of painted clay. I think it turned out ok, but I'm definitly going to try it a few more times. I eventually want it good enough for coolminiornot.com. | |

| If you want to get rid of few of them... something that alot of people have been clamoring for, Huge Elementals. Fire, Earth, Air, & Water. Not alot of detail needed and can be cast. I know that huge is larger than you are looking at doing, but hey... I can ask.

| i get it, i get it, huge elementals... but which one to do first and in what style? Fire like the huge fire seen here? (http://www.maxminis.com/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=9445) or maybe a huge water elemental that looks like a crashing wave? I've got plenty of ideas in my head but i'm looking for specific mandates here. give me a challenge and I'll try my best to make it work.
