Okay, you experienced plastic painters out there.

I've been using craft store acrylics on my metal minis. Works like a charm--some spray on clear coat sealer and they never flake off again.

Now, I paint on top of these plastic DDM figs and the paint comes off with very little pressure. I haven't been priming them. Is that going to solve this issue?

I also haven't sprayed my sealer on them, I'm going to try that next but I was a little worried about what it would do to the unpainted base.

At any rate, these figs are flexible--it seems that paint is less flexible. How do you get it to stay on??

For that matter, what does the original painting process consist of? You've got to work pretty hard to scrape off the factory original paint job.

I prime over the existing paint. then normally re-paint. you cannot remove the color. sometimes is part of the sculpt...

I always prime AND definately seal them. Testor's Dull Cote and Gloss Coat both go on well. I haven't tried any other sealants, but I would imagine they would take in a similar manner.

same as what they said. sometimes I strip the minis then prime, other times I just prime. There is too much chemical residue for paints to 'stick' to the plastic minis otherwise. I also use testor's. One or two coats of gloss, then one coat of dull. good luck
