| At first I thought "Flumph". But then I remembered that no one would want that anyway.
Then I thought "Enterprise". But the pieces didn't quite add up.
I would not have guessed the Federation Tank. Which is odd, because now I can't see anything else in those parts. | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?

| I have that model built and partially painted (undercoated) sitting in my garage collecting dust. Got it for my youngest son as a Chrissy present when Episode 1 was released. Should really get to that model with a hacksaw and destroy it and make scenery out of it... one day.

| LOL, interesting guesses! I planned to do this in around september, but it really took ages for me to get those silicon rubbers & resins.
I thought of doing few of these for myself and then trading the rest casts. As I don't know how much there will be interest for these, I don't know yet if I'm going to buy more resin as there should still be in that store.
That's really cool model, thanks for the link, Glumag! I could have used those pics when doing the sculpt! I hunted them pretty much around, like taking photos from bad-quality video screens [:P] I guess there exists some AAT models but I hadn't seen any good in miniatures scale.
It's been really tough job, I spent about 10 hours only to think of how to share this in parts, how it acts with the grid & how will it be balanced, how to do the molds so that I don't waste too much silicon & resin. My initial investment for casting materials is about $100 and I guess I'll be able to make maybe about 7-8 tanks with it, depending on if there will be badly flawed casts. | | My collected trade reference links Star Wars tactical combat -project My modelling/terrain pages Suomen miniatyyrikeräilijät / Miniature collectors of Finland

| | That is pretty sweet sean-khan. Seeing as it looks like you made moulds and it's very modular, how hard would it be for you to convert to Slave-1? IIRC it had a very similar shape to the TF Tank. | | | |

Thanks, Runelord! It's modular only because I wanted to make a mold of it and even if I could have made one-piece mold without leaving bubble-pockets, it would have consumed huge amounts of plastic and even the mold would have been pretty large. Even now, only the cost of plastic for a single AAT is $5-$10. And, balance would have been more difficult to achieve.
I hadn't thought of the resemblance with Slave... But it's true, the general shape IS pretty similar. Still, I don't think it's similar enough that it would be worth it to make a conversion, and the scale is pretty different.
I'll be updating my page today, I'll have pictures of a painted model there then. | | My collected trade reference links Star Wars tactical combat -project My modelling/terrain pages Suomen miniatyyrikeräilijät / Miniature collectors of Finland

| Really Awesome work!
So, from Conception to completion how long did it take?
Now how long would it take to make a 2nd? | | "You are not the sum of your miniatures."

| Thanks md3!
Well, my estimate for the original piece is 80 hours, maybe little more for mold making. I've made it for more than half-a-year little by little, so it's difficult to estimate and that might me underestimated. Making first cast piece to ready was maybe some 8 hours. Next pieces might get little quicker, especially if I work with few pieces simultaneously, but I don't know how many pieces I'm going to complete myself. Currently I've thought of keeping 3 pieces myself, and I have an idea of making at least one a little differently - I cut a battledroid commander in half and make the top hatch open putting the officer there. It'll take a little more time. | | My collected trade reference links Star Wars tactical combat -project My modelling/terrain pages Suomen miniatyyrikeräilijät / Miniature collectors of Finland

Btw, have you made something out of those casts I sent you?
Yeah, I have them put together and we're currently using them in a SW RPG game I'm in. I still love the Halo planet and Bacta tanks.[:)] I still haven't found a good way to illuminate them yet though without wires poking out though.
