| Here's the second one I completed from the 3 reapers I bought. This si the one I like the best how it came out...too bad I have not built some sort of special box to take good pictures with. Follow the link for more...this link has a couple of big pictures (wallpaper size) of the two giants and the three reapers I did; which I used last Tuesday on an adventure.

About the balance, none at all, as a matter of fact he is leaning towards the front a lot, as seen on the bottom picture and I find it has great stability.
I like this sculpt a lot but I do agree a larger base would be excellent, unfortunately I am not skilled nor have I the faintest idea on how to add a base to a metal mini or remove its current base and replace. Makes it easier for storage tho [:p] | |

I thought that was standard for fantasy art, regardless of practicality. Women warriors don't wear much of anything because they like having low AC's and getting killed. They think it's a brilliant idea or something. | Thanks! I really wanted a color that was close to the DDM frost giant and fomorian and icy white or light blues were not cutting it...I found that dove gray worked best if it was indeed on top of a deeper richer blue...it worked good.
I wanted him to wear a heavy leather coat (probably a few bear's worth [:p] ad also a type of light leather colored leggings. I also think that I got lucky with the contrasts.
If anyone is interested in the colors just shoot me and email and I'l write them down...I usually do this for my DDM repaints but these metal ones were so many of them that I got lazy [)] | |

| Thats a really nice job, a few tidbits since you asked for advice, the fur on his legs is nice, but i think it needs a bit more white, his beard i think needs a bit more contrast, and i think the horns would look better if they were white.
These are all personal preferance but i think you did a fantastic job. One other suggestion. I think you should get a big circular piece of pewter or other metal for the base, glue the base to the bottom of his base, and paint the base as snow. If you really want to be intense you can put a cobble stone path on the new pase with an adventuring party all attacking the giant. Kinda like a diorama. I am thinking people with bows, people hacking at his ankles, the works. What i would reccomend for this, is get some games workshop snow, then go outside and get small flat dark gray rocks and line them up like cobble stone. Fill in the sides up to the stone with heavy snow (green stuff painted white with games workshop snow on top) then for the cobble stone glue them all togeather and make sure you fill the cracks with snow (it melts last) and put little bits of snow flakes on the actual stones. In addition you could add some snow to the giant himself.

| Thanks for the recommendations schof, sounds like it would be a great look.
Never done any bases before so I'd have to read about it and familiarize myself with styles, products, materials, etc.
I am still having a hard time finding un-slotted 25mm plastic bases as it is.
He needs something bigger than 40mm, he needs a Huge base, which are 55mm 60mm? if I keep the progression logically?
There is a lot lost in a picture as well, his horns are mostly white but they have that dirty bone look to them with the dark cracks you usually find on dead animal horns of that type.
This was my first time (well second as Frulla was first) doing fur...I am but a novice in the craft...I even have that disclaimer in my modest re-paint gallery site (see my signature). [)]

| | they are large but this guy is a bit larger he would stand about a head higher than the DDM Frosty but his stance has his legs very separated and it would not fit into a 40mm base. | |
