Heh I've been bitten by the bug! This is my small homage to Castlevania, made a Blood Skeleton Repaint of a Direguard. I'd have to say this is probably my best yet (out of two thats not so hard though [:P]) as the wash/drybrushing this time around is much better IMHO. Unfortunately the light/camera doesnt do the red justice, as its much better contrast and wash job in person.

Nice. I'll be doing one (about my 5th or 6th) where I make the cape red/orange/yellow like fire, and the bones white so it looks like it is another burning skeleton.

This is very nice. As another beginner, I must say I am impressed.

Hey love the color, I did one the other day and snipped away the sword so that it would look like a skeleton wizard. (painted the bones a off white/yellow too match the archer).

Nice, the red ones were the regenerating ones right?

Pathetic Earthlings. Hurling your bodies out into the void - without the slightest inkling of who or what is out here. If you had known anything about the true nature of the universe - anything at all - you would have hidden from it in terror.

Thanks everyone [:)]

And yeah I think I've figured out my techiniques for wash/dry.

When I do the wash, I was first trying to guess how much paint to how much water I should mix, but if I mixed wrong I would end up painting over my existing coat and then it would ruin that coat of paint. So I now just dip the very tip of my brush into the paint to get the color I want, then dip the whole brush into a cup of water. That seems to thin it out enough to where it will go into the crevaces, its still seems to sit on the rest of the mini and darken the color but I can usually move the paint aroud alittle be to get it mo where I want it to go.

When I drybrush, the feathering doesnt work for me as I usually take so much paint off that nothing transfers to the mini. So I actualy feather with pressure and it tends to highlight rather well. Here and there I get some problems but nothing too major.

These techniques arent going to win me any awards, but it definately gives me something to start with [:)]

I think this is a bang-up job on the baneguard, it's nice and creepy! I think it almost looks like the bones were freshly pulled out of some poor sucker, then animated without being cleaned.

Yeah I found a real nice Drybrushing combination given the colors I had available that made him look real nice.

Started with my Crimson for the base coat, mixed it with alittle black for the wash. When I got the the drybrushing, Tempote Red seemed to close to the crimson to be a decent highlight, so I mixed white and crimson until I got a nice deep pink color. Now that obviously not gonna be a good skeleton, so I re-drybrushed the original Red over top again and it gave it a nice "glow" to the bones. Overall Im happy with its turnout [:)]
