| Here's my most recent repaint [:)]

I was initially thinking of doing pink wings, but I'm glad I changed my mind. There is a very thin layer of gold paint over the wings, so they sparkle when the light hits them on the right angle (but you can still see the shading underneath) - I'm very pleased with how it's turned out. As always, questions and comments are welcome.

| Looks very nice. Is that the small white dragon? If so extra kudos. That thing was a pain in the butt to paint [:D]

| | Very nice. I think purple can be a pretty badassed color if used right. Your dragon is a good example. | | Champion of the Tohr-Kreen. WotDQ Called Shot: Fang Dragon. | |

| Thanks, Yes, that is/was a small white dragon. In case you were wondering why someone would paint a purple dragon ... it was prompted by a discussion on the IRC channel were Dariustad said 'any dragon is good', and I wondered how he'd feel about a purple one - then the idea of a purple dragon was stuck in my head, so I had to paint it (or I wouldn't have been able to think about anything else). Nice job on the mini smithmeg, did you end up stripping the lil guy or did you just prime and paint? | | Ash nazg durbatulûk, ash nazg gimbatul, ash nazg thrakatulûk, agh burzum-ishi krimpatul | |

| Nice job! Although "Small White Dragon" crossed my mind, I seriously didn't think it was, because I never thought SWD could ever look that good!
You'll find description/stats for Purple Dragons in Dragon Compendium, complete with a wicked picture, which co-incidentally has a rather similar pose to your figure! You should check out the Dragon Compendium illustration if you can, it might even inspire you to paint deep-purple-black from the top of it's head and down the length of it's back to match the Dragon Compendium's artwork. | | http://www.maxminis.com/hwlist.asp?user=DarkWhite [for trade only within Australia, no overseas trade thanks]

| Thanks everyone Cthulhufnord - it's just primed and painted - I've had no success getting paint off these minis (when I've tried, it's always come off unevenly, and ended up with a much worse surface than the paint that's already there). It's purple cause I like purple (no particular dragon in mind), and cause no-one can say "that's the wrong shape for a purple dragon" like they could if I painted it one of the usual colours. [:)] Thanks for the info Darkwhite (I was trying to avoid getting that book, but I guess I don't have a choice now) [)] | | | |

| Really good paint job. Too bad this small sized mini is bigger than most of the mediums, or it would make a good pseudodragon proxy. I'd probably use it anyway, it beats using M&M's.
Thenameless- the Purple Dragon Knights take their name from a black dragon sooo ancient, his scales had faded to a greyish purple color. | | Champion of the Entire Monster Manual 1! (Click link to see current progress!) Uncommon Painting Competition 2 Winner

| Thanks for the nice comments everyone. However, I can't really take credit for the colour the purple is - it's just the Royal Purples triad from Reaper Master Series. (Have I mentioned before how much I love the triad idea for paints?) [:)] | | | |

Actually there was a purple dragon in dungeon magazine...I believe. It was either an amethyst dragon or possibly a prismatic dragon (new type), I can't remember, I'll see if I can find the issue and adventure title. I vaguely remember that one of its abilities was sculpting water...?

Purple, Orange, and Yellow dragons were most recently brought up to 3.5 stats in the Dragon Compendium. They are the much reviled, lost branch of the chromatic family.
I'm looking at the pictures again, and I have to say excellent job Meg. I love how the wings match up with your background in the second picture, it almost makes them look like translucent membranes.

That matching is entirely accidental (and would be pretty silly if I'd done it on purpose, as I can't really carry the landing on the front stairs around with me for display purposes) [:D]. But, thanks. [:)]
