| I just felt like sharing my new storage system. It's made from drawers of the old newspaper printing offices, where they used to store the stamps for letters:

| I have exactly the same thing on my wall (except it has a back to it). Yep - it's a defunct type-set drawer from a printers. I wish I could find more. Mine's mostly full of metal minis, though (there are a few plastics in there too).
The drawers are just about deep enough for a medium mini's base to be fully on the shelf. The top of my 'drawer' is crammed full of large-base minis (even though they'd fit in the taller sections, the larger bases make balancing an iffy proposition).
The smaller sections will hold all but the tallest medium minis (though the sword-above-head pose may be a little tall - that's what the bigger sections are for).
I wish I could find more, but they're now few and far between (found the one I have in an antique shop). Do make sure it's firmly attached to the wall, though (this is more of an issue with lovingly-hand-painted metal minis, I guess).
Storage plus display - and it takes up almost no space (it's a bit like having a poster on the wall). :) Nice one Chris!

| OK, here are some close ups. They're not the best, but show it in more detail:

| It looks like roughly 2 square inches per medium figure. It is about 1.5' X 2.5', right?
So, for me to display all 2000 of my (medium) figures, I'd need roughly 4000 square inches. Theoretically, that'd only be about 6' by 6' ... hmmm ... that isn't too bad.
If I built it out to handle the larges and huges, it'd need to be much bigger ... but hmmm .... | | Champion of Meepo _*_ Myztek on the Wizards Boards. _*_ (2206 DDM on 03/06/06) Please note: The use of the indicates an attempt at humor ... often a bad attempt. | | Yeah, I love shelves as opposed to boxes. Those look real nice but I wonder how effective they'd be for large amounts of minis. Regardless I like your setup alot. | | Champion of the Tohr-Kreen. WotDQ Called Shot: Fang Dragon.

It is. The left side is perfect, but not too happy with the large gap in the bottom of the right side. | | My Trading Thread
