| Hi there scratchbuilders and talented folk who modify minis. I have a small problem with my daughter's favourite druid mini - Vadania. Her arm broke off, complete with scimitar. I tried to invoke the goddess of sticky situations (aralditti) but she was having none of it. Any suggestions how to stick the arm back on?
Thanks

| I would pin the arm back in place, as well as superglueing it. This will give the joint some extra strength to withstand normal handling. This is assuming DDM or RPG use and wouldn't work as well if you have toddlers like me!
Home Depot sells packs of 2 or 3 very small drill bits for a rather small fee. Pick a set up, and slowly work the bit into the figure's arn then torso by hand. D&D minis are soft enough so that you don't need a drill to help.
You should be able to take a piece of paperclip (around 1/8") and work it slowly into the hole in the arm and the body of the figure.
A drop of superglue and a few hours should make Vadania all better! | | | |

A better pin may be a staple; I can usually find thinner staples than paperclips. Otherwise Runelord has the right idea. | | Champion of the common Flying Monkey (Fez optional) Peter Lee on the WotC board BAD WOLF

| | I repaired 2 Vadanias for a friend. Pining is NOT an option. The arm isn't even 1/4 inch in diameter. The staple trick might work, but you would have to jab it in there not drill. I superglued them, be liberal with it. As long as you use the thin kind in won't bulk up. I then went over the glued area with a matte varnish to remove the shininess and touched up the paint on the arm. Good as new. Let us know how it comes out. | | Good judgement comes from wisdom. Indeed, if your todlers are anything like runelord, you should just get a new one. | | Champion of Dracotaur- Vindicated! T32 | |

| | I had one of those as well. Superglue fixes it as well. If you want to ensure a better join, 'rough up' both ends with a file. Will give more surface area for the glue. | | Good judgement comes from wisdom. Wisdom comes from bad judgement. Member Team ROH Qwijoma on Wizards Boards | |
