| Nice repaint. I prefer the greenish-glow soul knife blades to the blue. Perhaps if they were blueish-glow blades...
Glowing eyes would be very nice as well. From the pics the eyes just look like two white dots. | |

I think the green would look better too, but I wanted to try a silverish blue. The eyes I just messed up really and need to do over. | |

I agree, but his pants are purple, so I didn't want to go over board. It might redo them to a reddish-pink or green. | |

I like the color of his armor for the most part, the gold kind of stands out a little. I usually try to go with dark colors for drow, but if you are making it as kind of a PC type figure or something like that, it really wouldnt matter. Maybe keep the pants the same, but make the soulknifes a light purple/dark purple mix. I dunno, it does look pretty nice and actually makes me want to do the same so I probably will. | |

| True_Blue: Perhaps a gold/brass color for the armor and a nice blue for the pants? That seems like it would work pretty nicely.
Personally, I think that purple is overused on Drow, and I would avoid it as much as possible just as a matter of personal taste. I would look to natural stone colors examining different samples and immitating those colors/looks (especially if I had, say, a Drow Ranger to paint....[^]). But that's personal preference.
One could also try warm colors for the "knives" (reds, yellows, oranges). I like the thought of that.
Or you could just play the purples off of each other. I think the pants need a bit of highlighting (although that could be the way the picture was shot), but otherwise things look good. [^] | |

| Purple may be overused, but I rarely find enough colors that I am happy with on drow. You usually think of drow in dark colors to blend in with the darkness, shadows, etc. With their black skin, painting things on their body black usually doesnt end up looking well. And then youa rent left with much. Dark blue or purple usually can fit this though. Other colors seem to draw the eye, and for the most part thats not what I want a drow mini to do, draw the eye.
Maybe its just because I'm used to seeing purple around drow, but I usually associate that color with them. Even lighter purples I think look pretty good with them and fit what I think looks "drowish". I realize other ppl might not exactly sure this view heh. Dark greys can also fit the bill a little bit too.
As I said before though, if this ends up being like a PC type drow, then its not as big of a deal. A drow on the surface, etc would typically wear all sorts of things, so you dont exactly need to follow any "theme".
I do like the way the mini looks tho, good job. | |
