| Today I was at a localish comic shop that had some gaming stuff. Next to the dusty boxes of Chainmail, I found two blisters of 3 twig blights apeice from WotC for $4. I bought them and took them home and discovered that these small creatures came with a one inch square base. I'm wondering if I shouldn't try and find some small round bases for them or does it really matter that much? Or would painting and flocking them on the larger base be easier (I have very littl painting experiance after all)?
Thanks much | | Currently pending trades: Vrecknidj* What you need to know about trading with me.

| | EM-4 carries 20mm round bases. They are about the only ones that I have found. They are out of England, but shipping costs were fairly low and they are very fast shippers. Overall, I had a good experience with them. | | | |

| warhammer does have small bases, but they are square.
I've only found the same small bases that Runelord is talking about, and I was quite happy with their shipping as well. | | Champion of the common Flying Monkey (Fez optional) Peter Lee on the WotC board BAD WOLF

| Metal washers from the hardware store seem to be popular choices as well.
I've been very curious about the Twig Blights. I've seen a couple auctions on ebay and have been very close to going after them.... | | Champion of the Werewolf Lord, Knight of Anything Duergar, and Squire of Things Gnollish List reset with the start of previews for each new set...got Chainmail®?

Well, there is only one sculpt so all of mine look the same. I suppose the best way to describe them is to say they look like Kobolds with barkskin cast on them. I have some goblin scout chainmail minis that I was thinking about putting together and painting and I've tried their bases on the twig blights for size and I have to say they look much better. So now I am torn, goblin scouts vs twig blights vs buying more small bases. Decisions, decisions... | | Currently pending trades: Vrecknidj* What you need to know about trading with me.

Metal washers and some green stuff is the best option for a few small bases. I would also suggest looking at litko models. They make wooden ones which are easier to work with than the metal ones.....at least in my opinion | | Ambassador of FUN!!!

There are other places to pick up plastic bases if you google around (but 20mm are harder to find than 25mm). | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. Where's my pie? Champion of Dwarven Thunderlashers Knight of the Large Dire Chicken Have/Want List Trade References

Cool link, that's the first place I've seen that carries 15mm bases. Have you ordered from them in the past?

Indeed. Quick shipping. Great service. Most of my Chainmail goblins, pre-Chainmail kobolds, and Twig Blights are on litko wooden bases. The pre-slotted are superior since cutting the slot-tab off of pewter minis is a nightmare. Not many places even carry round 20mm much less round 15mm. It's nice that even if they don't carry it they'll custom-cut nearly anything. | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. Where's my pie? I have not ordered from them. But my FLGS carries thier stuff. I love the square bases for terrain for D&D terrain. The square bases are "exact" and line up on a grid great!!
I am going to pick up some of the "slotta bases" as yesterday I was cleaning up the paint room (Mrs. griffrat is throwing a baby shower for a co-worker) and founf a ton of lead minis that are all lining up in a que for paint. I also found a bunch of lead that I painted about five years ago when I was able to paint more often and the stuff looks nice. I am going to take pics during the baby shower....gotta stay out of sight.... | | Ambassador of FUN!!!

| | Epicast bases are pretty cool. They are just kinda hard to affix. I use them so I do not have to sculpt rock or ice. The smallest one they make is 25mm. The only downside is that you have to paint them. | | Evil triumphs when good men fail their morale saves. | |
