| In case you've forgotten when this is about, here's the rules again:

Official Competition Announcement (and rules).
To be part of this competition, you need to:
1. Paint the Tiefling Blademaster, (either a total repaint, or just a touchup is acceptable - but the difference needs to be noticable). Basing is optional.
2. Post a picture (or 2) of the mini in the thread I will create on the 6th or 7th of May - entries will be accepted until midnight (maxminis time) on Saturday the 13th.
Please make sure pictures are cropped closely round the mini, and no taller than 6 inches - if you can't do this, send the picture to me (a link for my email is in my signature) and I'll format it - only appropriatly formatted picures will be entered in the prize draw - see my tiefling below for the size I want (My old photo editing software thinks it is a 6 inch tall jpg) - (if yours shows up a lot bigger than mine, please shrink it a bit and repost).
3. I will randomly draw a prize winner from all the entries (the quality of the painting will have no bearing on the result - the prize is to encourage participation by painters of all abilities). I will roll a dice in vassal, in case anyone wants to verify the roll.
I will keep an updated list of entries in this post, if I've left off your name, send me email and remind me (but remember I'm in Australia, so I'm generally asleep till late afternoon in the US) [)].
4. The prize will be the choice of a rare mini from among my spares (with a couple of exceptions) - (I'll post a list of the minis available when I start the photo thread), or, a custom cane toad repaint

| Well, here's mine. I took inspiration from the female Tiefling in Dungeon for the basic color palette. I don't have a (decent) digital camera, so the I wound up laying the mini on a flat-bed scanner, which actually worked O.K.

| Hi everyone, I must appologize. At 48 years old, the eyes aren't what they used to be. I'm going to have to invest in one of those magnifier/light combo things. I just can't see the detail anymore.

This took me maybe two and a half hours. I like how it turned out for the most part, still not sure about the freehand on the back. That's something I'm always trying to improve. I think trying to figure out what color to paint his skin gave me the most trouble.
I did do some editing to the pics, but only to remove some of the scan artifacts and the stray bits of dirt and stuff that show up at this magnification. I'm just glad the pics aren't any larger, my paint jobs tend to look messy much closer. I'm just not up there with the Jennifer Hailey's yet.

| Finally got it done last night. Wings are from a Dragoneye Gargoyle. Base is made from epoxy. This was going to be a PC anyhow, but then we got a TPK! [xx(]

| Ok, I spent 4 hrs last night doing this puppy, it is a rushed job so I apologize for the crappiness and lack of detail. I did not prime it either [:(] but I wanted to support Meg's contest [:)] so here it is.
Edit: BTW, forgot to mention, I took an X-acto knife and proceeded to make the sword look like it could maybe stab someone instead of the popsicle look it had.

| Okay, here's my lame, hastily cobbled-together attmept. I don't know why but I had a real problem with this figure. I think more than anything these images highlight my deplorable digital photography skills more than any small amount of miniature painting ability I might possess.
The harsh flash showcases all those little bits where I missed painting and colours bled and yada yada yada. I am actually quite displeased with this one. It needs a lot more work, and of course the basing is not painted*, but tis good enough for now I suppose.
The "dagger" was donated by a Silent Wolf Goblin who elected to multi-class into monk.
