Using Delta paints:

Red Iron Oxide/Dark Flesh/Medium Flesh

OR

Autumn Brown/Caucasian Flesh/Medium Flesh

I don't use Citadel, so I can't comment on that. Using these two triads has yielded excellent, clean results (caveat..the medium flesh will likely need two coats since it tends to be a bit runny).

EDIT: These cost roughly $4 for all three paint bottles at most craft stores, so it's inexpensive in a pinch.

This link is pretty handy. You can find similar colors and mix them from GW paints.
This is what I would try.
If you wash yours, just use a base coat of tan flesh, use the flesh wash ink, and highlight with tan flesh dulled with white. If you shade then start with dark flesh dulled with white, then dry brush with tan flesh, and highlight with the dulled tan flesh again.

I've got a Folk Art color called "Parchment" that is serving as my basic flesh color. It's a little lighter than I'd prefer (although that can be solved with a decent wash), but it's OK.

I miss the days of Ral Partha's "Khaki". That one served me very well for a number of years.

Aravis - I'd check out one of the "painting 'x'" articles on the GW homepage. They have some decent tutorials by the 'evey metal team on painting different miniatures lines. Try looking under Brettonians or the dwarves for the color scheme you are talking about.
