There are options a plenty out there. If you want to make your own terrain you can customize it to suit your needs. However, making your own terrain can be time consuming as watching paint dry.

But if you are going to purchase pre-made and pre-painted items there is a substanial cost involved. Just like any instant gratification item. You want it now, you pay, "get it now prices".

Then there is the storage fact. You buy it it is going to come home with you. It may not sound like a big deal, at first. But when you start getting more and more terrain then space becomes an issue.

The things above have all had to do with the 3d type terrain. If you want card stock and paper type fold up stuff there is a site called card works or something. They have tons of stuff that you can pay for a download and then print and go. I don't know to much about this last option as it is not my style. But it is another avenue for you to explore.

food for thought (or terms to google):
Dwarven forge
hirst arts
miniature building authority
card works
hotwire foam cutter

enjoy!!
