| Guys
In a thread further down, I posted a URL to a picture of my DnD Village, created purely from cardstock.
Unfortunately, the link just came through as text, so I thought I'd actually try and post an embedded picture or two. I'm not sure how well this will work, so bear with me.
Frank
P.S. Sorry about the quality of the 3rd picture, but it's one of the few I have showing the interior of the pub |

| Very nice.
We've done a couple of those buildings and used them in our gaming but nothing to the scale that you have there. Look great. | | | |

| Thanks for the feedback guys. I am pretty proud of it. I am working on a Castle from the same company (WorldWorks Games) at the moment. Should be ready for some pix in a couple of weeks

I find that the time is really worth it in terms of amazement on my players faces when I surprise them with 3D terrain.
VillageWorks is a great place to start with WWG because it is a simple set. The only problem is the buildings do not have interiors which leaves you with three choices
1) Ensure that all the action takes place outside 2) Build 2D terrain maps that can be used when characters enter a building 3) Kitbash the interiors of certain buildings (using a WWG set called InteriorWorks)
The good news is that WWG are working on a new set Streets of Himmelveil that will feature buildings with interiors as well as exteriors. A prequel to this release called Himmelveil Harbormaster has already been released which looks fantastic. I have bought it, but not started to build yet. At the moment, all of my time is taken up with the Castle.

| I don't use it much cso my games are largely
off-the-cuff and so I don't have many locations set up ahead of time,
but even then I bought some sets. Highly recommended.

I have most of their Fantasy line (they also do a modern line plus a Pirates line) and I have to say that the quality started of good (but basic) with the early sets and built to amazing (and very detailed) with the later sets.
A large build like the one above takes a serious time (not to mention ink and paper) investment, but single buildings can be done very quickly.
I truly recommend it (although long term storage can be an issue).

| Nice, good work there. If i had the time, the space, a girlfriend ready
to accept that i store large 3D models of D&D stuff in the house,
more money, and a ring of wishes, maybe i'd have one of those too.

| Nice! I might copy that layout and use it with my own Ye Olde Pube model.
BTW, I did a customized version of one of the WWG accesories. I replaced the bottles and beakers on the shelving units with books to make a couple different bookcase units.

I am just about to start on the props and interiors of my WWG Castle, so a couple of bookcases would be great. I'll PM you with my e-mail address.

| I also find these settings very well done.
Here's a question: When you say it's time intensive, does a large builing take an afternoon, a day, a couple of days? Here's a question: When you say it's time intensive, does a large builing take an afternoon, a day, a couple of days? Thanks. Hi, sorry for the delay in replying. For the buildings shown, it varies very much. A simple house from VillageWorks or WOTC will only take an hour or so from scratch (including printing, cutting, scoring, gluing and assembling).
A large building (like ye olde "pube") will take me 2 or three hours, largely because of the wooden reinforcements that I add.
The thing is that none of these buildings come with interiors as standard. It is relatively straightforward to add interiors to these buildings, but can be time-consuming. The pub (admiteddly 5 floors) took me about a month working two nights a week at a couple of hours per time.
Some of the newer WWG sets now include interiors as standard and these are much quicker to build. The castle I am working on (from CastleWorks Ultimate) contains stone and plaster houses and it is possible to build a two story house (6" by 6") in a couple of hours, complete with interiors and detachable roof and upper storey.

| No problem on the time lag. I have no space in my apartment for even one, so it's more for curiosity's sake that I ask.
I hope you show off the castle when it's done.
