Looking through the corner, I noticed a thread many months dead that was stickied, so I un-stickied it. I am wondering, however, what people would like to see. What can we do to make the Crafters' Corner better? What would you like to see? Are there any topics that are in desperate need of being stickied? Do we want painting contests? Crafting articles? Pizza parties?

I'd love to hear some feedback.

I think a FAQ or an introduction to modding and painting DDM would be most useful.

More painted minis from you Z!!!

I went and got myself a job. Getting repaints posted is taking even longer now

Since you asked nicely, I'll see about getting some updates done

My current project is a custom Aspect of Kord for Krush. I'm sure I'll be posting pics when that's completed

For greater clarity, I renamed the Useful Links thread to Painting FAQ + Useful Links and Info. I'll try and take some time this weekend to review all of the links in that thread and see if anything needs pruning/updating.

I haven't looked into Crafter's Corner for a while, as it had seemed rather quiet recently.  One thing I missed was the Uncommon Painting Challenge, as that moved off-board.  However, I'm pleased to see Wyzdum resurrected the idea with his Uncommonly Common Painting Challenge, though unfortunately I noticed it too late to enter.  Although I've never entered one of these in the past, now that I know, I'll be keeping a more careful watch for the next one!  Thanks for your effort in organising this one, Wyzdum.  Even if I don't enter, I have only attempted four repaints of my own, I still enjoy viewing everyone else's creative efforts, as they have already given me inspiration try the repaints I have done.  Don't hold me to my word, but if I like the figure for the next Challenge, I might just try it, to offer my support to the Max-Minis effort!  Hopefully more ppl will get on board as they realise the Challenge has been raised here once again!  Thanks Wyzdum, and everyone who entered.

Thanks DarkWhite for the words of encouragement.  It's a little tough to try to get people involved with stuff as everyone's schedules are pretty busy.

I hope more members will participate next time and that we'll get to see more repaints.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, its only for fun.  You don't need to be good to enter and you might win.

It would be a large undertaking, but I would like to see something like an Idiot's guide to modding and repainting. Many things in some guides I've read cruise right over my head. Something written for someone (like me) who doesn't have a clue what they're doing, only a bit of enthusiasm.

Point One: An idiot's guide to painting.

Much harder to produce than you'd think. When I first started getting into serious painting (actually trying for shading/lighting effects) I had to scour the web and read several dozen different miniature painting guides. Even then a lot was easier to learn by just experimenting rather than reading explanations. If anyone happens to find a "beginner's guide to miniature painting" (or wants to create one) I'd be happy to sticky a link

Point Two: A section of nice paper terrain links

Any suggestions? I haven't really seen any sites which produce what I would categorize as "nice" paper terrain. Happy to add a section if there's enough interest/information available.

I've been collecting a ridiculous amount of that kind of thing.  Not all of it is to scale, in fact most of it isn't I'd say.  I'll see if I can gather some links and what not.

Even something explaining a few of the basic things like washes and dry brushing etc. would be awesome. I got dry brushing down pretty well finally, but have yet to attempt a wash. Things like inks to use, how much to dilute and how much to use and such. For a long time, I didn't even know how to begin to do that stuff. I would see comments on other peoples minis about them and wonder how you went about doing them.

Maybe some tips on error corrections too if someone has found some nifty quick fixes for the gaffes we all make. I'll probably never make it to shading and stuff myself. I just don't have time enough to dedicate really improve that much.
