 | | 10/11/2006 2:54 PM | Alert | Being the "customer", I was feeling something totally different since Z had painted a Pegasus for me already. I always felt the Kord was like a "baby" Storm Giant, we threw around some ideas and there you have it. Momma Storm Giant has a son. I am giddy with excitement, I really can't wait to see what it looks like in person. Woohoo | | Rise Abovecompleted trades:195 Ref list|| The list updated-5/12/08 || My Email | |

It took forever because I'm bogged down between work and school right now (fortunately, this should be my last 70+ hour week for a while). It took a surprisingly short time because I used shaded metallic paints instead of NMM. NMM takes a frighteningly LONG time while metallics are rather quick (shaded metallics are between 1 and 4 paint steps per part, NMM is between 5 and 15 paint steps per part). I've been painting NMM for so long I'd forgotten how quickly metallic paints get the job done.
The most time consuming part were the boots/gloves (since each individual scale has over 5 paint steps) followed by the skin tone. I think the boots/gloves took around 3 hours or so and the skin tone took roughly an hour.
The kilt, which looks spiffy, only takes about 20-30 minutes to finish, since the technique I use for it is very simple, yet yields nice results.
Overall time to completion was about 6 hours (which is a little longer than average for me, but Kord has a LOT of detail). | | Knight Warlord a.k.a. Commander (#32) in only 6 months. Where's my pie? | | 10/13/2006 5:36 PM | Alert | I rec'd the Kord?Storm today. A quote from Clark(Benchwarmers) "Awesome!" "This is way better than macaroni."
Seriouslly the pictures do not do the fig justice whatsoever. Probably my favorite part of the Kord are the boots. The detail is incrediable, my son even uttered a word about him "Whoa." I can't wait to use him in skirmish next week. Once again a truly awesome job. Thank you! | | Rise Abovecompleted trades:195 Ref list|| The list updated-5/12/08 || My Email | |

It's a detail like this that requires such patience that prevents me from ever doing something like that. Oh, yeah, and lack of skill.
Again, very nice job.Â

 | | 03/19/2008 4:02 AM | Alert | | I like it better than the actual Storm Giant fig. | | The details of my life are quite inconsequential... very well, where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner and RPG designer from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute and RPGA certified DM named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark and THAC0. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons, D&D every night. In the spring we'd make meat helmets for LARP. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag, forced to walk the walk of a thousand four siders, and beaten with reeds- pretty standard really. At the age of twelve I received my first scribe, which was very handy for D&D. At the age of fourteen a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles for LARP. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum... it's breathtaking- I highly suggest you try it.

 | | 03/28/2008 12:54 AM | Alert | No plastic here my friend, there was one seam that worked perfect for the lightening running thru his veins. Overall "baby storm" has a special place in my collection. And as Zenthrus said previously thepics do not do it justice. It's nice to have an orginal.
